St Agnes
I think you should revert your move. The article you moved is about a lifeboat station on the Isles of Scilly, not in St Agnes, Cornwall. I have already removed your mistaken hatnote. DuncanHill (talk) 21:52, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thank you for the note. How confusing! — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:56, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the quick response - and the hatnotes make sense now :) DuncanHill (talk) 22:04, 7 February 2021 (UTC)
Isles of Scilly school
Hi there
I note the changes you have made to the list and categories for schools on the Isles of Scilly. I can live with the change to the List of schools on the Isles of Scilly as it works as a redirect. However I have reverted your changes to the categories - The Isles of Scilly are still a separate Local education authority in England (albeit the smallest), and all schools in England on Wikipedia are categorised by LEA. Bleaney (talk) 12:18, 13 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Bleaney: I would propose they are categorised directly into Category:Secondary schools in Cornwall, etc. I can't see any benefit to a category containing one article. In any case Five Islands Academy is an academy so has no LEA involvement. I will move this discussion to Talk:Five Islands Academy if you want to reply there. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 21:11, 14 February 2021 (UTC)
This page was moved in 2019 and move-protected based on a request by a single user. You waited a single week to move the page before closing the discussion and move-protecting the page. See Talk:Al-Aqsa Intifada#Requested move 24 October 2019. This seems out of process. The reasoning behind this move is faulty -- Second Intifada is the globally recognized term for the subject of the article. Even the BBC link the proposer provided was dated. Here BBC uses "Second Intifada." The notion that we should use the name that is almost exclusively used in either 1) Arab language sources or 2) scholarship referencing Arab-language sources to make it more "global" is questionable. Wikieditor19920 (talk) 17:33, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- Hello. One week is the standard duration of the WP:RM process. If you think the wrong decision was made, you could start a conversation at the article's talk page and/or use the RM process. Regards — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 18:09, 8 March 2021 (UTC)
- OK, thanks. Wikieditor19920 (talk) 18:33, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

Cape Spear
Re Cape Spear, it looks like the two lighthouses have gotten mixed up. Not sure if the boxes just need to be reversed or if something more needs to be done. Station1 (talk) 01:16, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Are you the person to talk to about this script? I hadn't used it in quite a while, and then I tried to close an AFD with it the other day and it seemed to be doing it's thing, but it didn't actually do anything except fill in the edit summary. Beeblebrox (talk) 21:24, 14 May 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, I know nothing about it! Not sure if anyone is maintaining it these days ... — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:29, 15 May 2021 (UTC)
Hi, I am trying to look up the RM discussion for this move you made back in 2017, and cannot find it in the archive. Any idea what might have happened? Thanks! 162 etc. (talk) 15:56, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
- Normal Op archived it last year, but it went into an unexpected archive: Talk:Sia Furler/Archive 2. I think those archives need moving over — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:43, 22 May 2021 (UTC)
Weather template
I reverted your one edit at Template:WikiProject Weather since four of the task forces you removed have articles underneath them, however, their task force pages simply haven't been created yet. As for the TC one, we are waiting for a discussion to be closed before taking any kind of action on it. The admin we asked to close it simply got behind on RL issues and should be taking care of it soon. I would request that you leave the project banner as is for now task force-wise. NoahTalk 10:13, 6 June 2021 (UTC)
- I think it would be better to create those taskforce pages before adding them to the template. Regards — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:11, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

Hello, MSGJ,
I see you tagged this category for deletion as a CSD C1. I've been seeing these lighthouse categories pass through the empty categories list and tagged a few {{emptycat}} because they were marked as Tracking categories. Can they be deleted? Liz Read! Talk! 01:46, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Liz, yes it was just a temporary tracking category. I try to remember to clean up when I've finished with them. Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:25, 20 June 2021 (UTC)
- That's fine. I just wanted to check in with you. Thanks for the follow-up. Liz Read! Talk! 01:02, 21 June 2021 (UTC)
Template protection requested
You protected the template Template:Quantities_of_bytes due to edit warring. The same editor (Locke Cole) is at it again, only this time at the directly related template Template:Quantities_of_bits. If you have time, would you consider protecting that template too? —Quondum 23:36, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
Book class
Hi, this edit has seemed to result in the various category class templates to have offsetting numbers. For example, Category:Book-Class Album articles has 86 entries but that number is showing up under the category class column due to the offsetting. Thanks. StarcheerspeaksnewslostwarsTalk to me 22:40, 12 July 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for letting me know. I've fixed that now. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 04:09, 13 July 2021 (UTC)

Transparency in edit summaries
In this edit at Template:Expand section/sandbox you reverted, saying: we are using this for a discussion without including a link, a revision id, or mentioning a pagename. This was completely opaque to me. I checked your contributions and you have three edits to the sandbox and no edits to the talk page since mid-July. What discussion are you talking about? Please be more transparent in your edit summaries as a courtesy to others. Thanks, Mathglot (talk) 07:07, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
Hello, MSGJ,
Just a head's up, any time you restore a draft or user page that has been deleted via CSD G13 stale delete, you need to then make an edit to the page or it pops up on the "ready to delete" lists again. So, I deleted the draft again as it showed up as eligible for a G13 deletion. I double-checked and found you had recently restored this page so I re-restored it made a minor edit to the page so that other admins wouldn't make the same mistake I did. Most admins don't realize the need to make an edit to a restored stale draft unless you help out at WP:REFUND so I thought I'd just pass the tip along to you. Thank you! Liz Read! why Add project 5th November 2021/please add WikiProject Tasmania has been missed... is there a reason ? JarrahTree 12:46, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

- If I had got it right, I had wanted to add all the australian states... JarrahTree 13:31, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on Category:Pages using infobox lighthouse with redundant Wikidata item indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself. Liz Read! Administrators will no longer be autopatrolled
A recently closed Request for Comment (RFC) reached consensus to remove Autopatrolled from the administrator user group. You may, similarly as with Edit Filter Manager, choose to self-assign this permission to yourself. This will be implemented the week of December 13th, but if you wish to self-assign you may do so now. To find out when the change has gone live or if you have any questions please visit the Administrator's Noticeboard. 20:06, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
