proposal to disallow non-Wayback content from Internet Archive

edit

Hello, MSchottlender-WMF. You have new messages at Fabrickator's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

The proposal under discussion (and I seem to be the only one opposing it, out of the handful of participants) would either:

  • remove all links from English WP to Internet Archive that is not Wayback
  • prohibit links to any non-Wayback content that is under copyright, absent an explicit license from the copyright holder allowing it

Here is the discussion: Wikipedia:External links/Noticeboard § Archive.org hosting of copyrighted material
