Notable people lists
Hey there. Just came across a past edit you made on a talk page where a local Limavady councillor is promoting themselves. [edit]. The original editor was pointing the user to the wrong page, but the WP:CITSTRUCT under Notable people does require people to have an article in order for them to be added to a city or town article. This is a decision made by that project, similar to the fact that IMOS is imposing editing restrictions on Ireland related articles (such as the Derry conversation or how we name people etc.) So as a result they do need to have an article to be included in a Notable people list for a city. Just thought I'd close the loop on this item. Especially since the councillor in question is trying their best to self promote themselves where ever they can on Wikipedia. Anyway a local politician is not notable per WP:POLITICIAN. Canterbury Tail talk 18:23, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks. I knew there was a WP:COI most likely going on there. I didn't know of WP:POLITICIAN, though I have seen many instances of where others apparently don't either, so will keep that guideline in mind. Mabuska (talk) 20:54, 16 August 2017 (UTC)
