RE: Spike O' Neill Page

edit

I'm aware of the original purpose of the page, that being to have people vandalize it, just to see if it gets reverted. This is Disrupting wikipedia to make a point, and isn't acceptable. - Rjd0060 (talk) 16:31, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Actually, that isnt the point at all. Quite the opposite. There is no encouragement to vandalize the page or wikipedia in general in any way, shape, or form. The point was to prove how quickly a accurate and factual article could be produced, and demonstrate that wikipedia's methodology is solid. Please revert this page's status.

Thanks.

We have received other information. The article has been unprotected. The deleted version did not meet our notability guidelines for people. To request its restoration, pursue deletion review. Otherwise, just re-create the article. - Rjd0060 (talk) 16:50, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

I would expect that the deleted version wouldn't be up to standards. That's why it was created as a placeholder article, with the expectation that it would be fleshed out with additiona information in the near future. I can create another page, but I am not an authority on Mr. O'Neill so it will likely be about the same in terms of content for the moment. I can and will see to it that it is formatted according to Wikipedia guidelines as it progresses. I would ask that you please not summarilly delete content without contacting myself or engaging the discussion page in the future. The whole point of the wikipedia process is open collaboration, and not random and abrupt editorial fiat. MadTigger (talk) 17:14, 23 June 2008 (UTC)MadTiggerReply

You may want to review our guidelines, (see WP:YFA). This should help you in creating an article that is more up to our standards. - Rjd0060 (talk) 17:18, 23 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
