Hello, MaddsCS, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Article issues

edit

Your additions to the alternatives to animal testing article include passages copied nearly verbatim from you source. This was detected by automatic plagiarism detection software. For copyright reasons, your entire contribution, and Kanaayah's additions, had to be deleted. Please review the Plagiarism and Copyright training module before proceeding further.

One other issue - the source you were using, CAARE, is an activist site, and probably isn't a suitable source for Wikipedia. You should be using high-quality scholarly sources, preferably from peer-reviewed publications, wherever possible. There's nothing wrong with presenting the opinions of activists, if they are notable, but they should not be used as a source of factual information. Thanks.
