The Assault on Truth

Hello, RadioFan. You prodded The Assault on Truth. Since The Assault on Truth is probably the most notorious book ever written about Sigmund Freud, and since its enormous influence is documented in the article itself, I have removed the prod. Your reason for prodding it ("Insufficient citations to significant coverage in reliable sources where the book itself (rather than the subject of the book, Freud) is the subject of the coverage to meet notability guidelines for books") was simply mistaken. Richard Webster's Why Freud Was Wrong is one of the reliable sources used in the article, and while that book is about Freud, it certainly also provides coverage of The Assault on Truth as a book, independently of the book's subject, Sigmund Freud (see pages 519-520, among several others). There are multiple criteria for notability, and one of them is that "The book has been considered by reliable sources to have made a significant contribution to a notable motion picture, or other art form, or event or political or religious movement." Since Webster observes that The Assault on Truth aroused "massive publicity and controversy" and "accelerated the spread of the recovered memory movement", the article meets at least that criterion. It probably meets others as well, so it's about 99% likely that the article would survive an AfD. Polisher of Cobwebs (talk) 05:12, 15 April 2012 (UTC)
