Speedy deletion nomination of WFAN-FM

The Kinston Free Press

Hi. I just added a reference from this publication and noticed the existence of both The Kinston Free Press and Kinston Free Press. It looks as if they could do with consolidating. Disambiguation page

Hello, RadioFan. When you moved Bellagio to a new title and then changed the old title into a disambiguation page, you may have overlooked WP:FIXDABLINKS, which says:

A code of honor for creating disambiguation pages is to fix all resulting mis-directed links.

Before moving an article to a qualified name (in order to create a disambiguation page at the base name, to move an existing disambiguation page to that name, or to redirect that name to a disambiguation page), click on What links here to find all of the incoming links. Repair all of those incoming links to use the new article name.

It would be a great help if you would check the other Wikipedia articles that contain links to "Bellagio" and fix them to take readers to the correct article. Thanks. R'n'B (call me Russ) 11:57, 11 November 2012 (UTC)

Justin Friesen

Hey RadioFan, a few months ago, I had the pleasure of working with you on the article about Toronto Band "The Lemon Bucket Orkestra". There was a discussion of Notability, and you helped rule in its favour when reliable sources were provided. Recently, there's been a bit of a heated discussion about the Notability about a filmmaker who made a film about The Lemon Bucket Orkestra: Justin Friesen. He's had five+ points of Notability brought up in support of his article, yet this user "Pburka" is adamant in his insistence upon the page's deletion despite the Notability points + sources. No worries. I see some points on both side. Friesen may be notable if the book reference I found (and mentioned on the talk page) is the same person. If that's the case, I'll do a bit more verification and make the edit so you dont have to worry about COI. If that's not the case, then it needs to be merged into the article on the film. An airline sponsored film festival doesn't strike me as very notable.--RadioFan (talk) 02:20, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Frustratingly, an administrator has now deleted the page without opening up for a discussion. Why can his decision be so absolute? Yohowithrum (talk) 15:11, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Actually that administrator was just following policy. Now that I look, I see that this page has been the subject of a deletion discussion note once but twice Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Justin Friesen (2nd nomination) and the consensus each time was to delete the page. If the page is created again and without significant improvement to its notability, it will be deleted again. All that being said, If you think that this article can meet notability guidelines, you are welcome to request the article be userfied, that is restored, but under your userid. You may then edit it all you like, getting it to the point where you feel it will survive in the main article space. I'd be happy to help you there. Might be best to come up with a couple of references first that will help this article meet WP:BIO, before going to all this trouble. As I mentioned before, I'm not convinced this biography will meet guidelines. Nothing against the guy, Wikipedia has rules, and they are pretty flexible, but not everyone meets them. Justin Friesen

I'm backing off for a bit, but it's not clear to me how using the talk page is disruptive. I'm trying to deal with an editor who (I'm convinced) is almost certainly the subject of the article and who has a history of sock puppetry. My initial contacts with the editor left a negative impression. He reverted constructive edits without explanation and simply deleted any attempts to communicate via his talk page. I'm also suspicious that he's using User:Etobgirl as another sock puppet. Pburka (talk) 02:25, 12 November 2012 (UTC)

Using the talk page isn't disruptive, making the same point over and over can be. Cooling down a bit is a good thing. I'm not convinced this topic is notable either. It may be (based on the book mentions I posted about on the talk page) but I'm not sure if thats the same person. Probably best to take this to a deletion discussion to invite wider participation in the discussion. As for the sockpuppet concern, you should look over WP:SOCK and take appropriate steps.--RadioFan (talk) 02:31, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
