Suggestions for publishing

edit

Hi, I am just recapping thoughts that I had from last Wednesday:

1. Add one sentence to the notability section.

2. Don't start Education section with She - put last name. RosPost 00:10, 13 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

3. I would reverse her research interests in saying she is interested in how religion etc shapes social cultural events (however you have it). In her work and activism she is especially interested in how religion shapes, gender violence, etc..... (make sure you have citations for all of her interests.

4. Isn't she widely published? So this is just one chapter in 1 book. I would rework this with her books. Put in Title of Essay and site it for the reference. Here is her VIAF # which is her publications https://viaf.org/viaf/164149106341068492778/

5. Here are some publications and other ways to understand notability: Google scholar https://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0%2C48&q=Anne++Kubai&btnG=

6. Put in Christine's stub info and go ahead and publish. Just clean a little and put in the stub, don't write a thesis.

edit

Hi, here's some feedback, as promised. Please don't mind the length and comprehensiveness of this feedback. This is typically how editors review each other articles and it can tend to get picky. I will edit typos and small grammar errors as I go, but will give a detailed edit summary.

Education

Ref1: It's not customary in WP to use a thesis as a source for the fact that it was written. A better idea is to use ref2. In the research section on that site, it describes what her thesis was about. I suggest that you summarize and paraphrase that information instead of simply listing the thesis title, like how you used the information about Kubai's B.A. and M.A.

Career

This section looks good; I just made some typos and grammar corrections, and changed some of the formatting. I also made some minor wording changes; please revert them if you disagree with them. Finally, I de-linked your second mention of Södertörn University because you only have to link a term or word the first time it's mentioned.

Ref2 is a potential treasure! I know this is just a stub for now, but I think you can go back later and mine it for this bio. My warning about using it, though, is to do your best to avoid using fancruft and puffery.

Research

Another suggestion for later expansion is to go through her writings and summarize them. I try and explain what I mean here (User talk:Communista/sandbox/3), during my feedback for another Circle bio. Scroll down to the end, in the third and fourth paragraphs of "Early life section."

Documentaries

I would put this section in the "Research" section, but that's just my personal preference. You should remove the quoted phrase at the end of the paragraph. I know you take it directly from the source, but it doesn't make sense there, either. Also, picky point: make sure the references are placed after the period at the end of sentences. (I went ahead and fixed them.)

Selected works

Lists are always bulleted. I just fixed it.

I'm excited about this bio, because unlike many of the bios we've worked on for the Circle project, this one has the potential to be a larger, more comprehensive bio of its subject. If you follow my suggestions, it'd be good to go and you can publish it as a stub without any pushback. Later on, I highly recommend going back and expanding it with your current sources. Nice job thus far! Christine (Figureskatingfan) (talk) 03:46, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
