Subduction figure
editHi MagentaGreen, I've reverted your change to an SVG file at subduction, because the new file has at least one major inaccuracy - the internal structure of the accretionary prism. I'll open a discussion on the article talk page to see how others view this. Mikenorton (talk) 23:42, 18 March 2014 (UTC)
Your rants at Graphics Lab
editWe're here to improve graphics-take the manners police bit elsewhere-it's not constructive and reflects poorly on you. Nobody was rude to you, most of us have been here years longer than you have and don't seek to pick fights, in fact we work quite well with each other.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:49, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
- Hi @Kintetsubuffalo: It's hopefully not asking too much, to say "please" and "thank you". With picking up a quarrel, that has nothing to do. But maybe you're used to this sound after all the years. Regards, MagentaGreen (talk) 14:22, 26 July 2014 (UTC)
- I concur absolutely with MagentaGreen here. Saying "please" is a matter of simple courtesy and only takes six key strokes to include. Everybody in here is a volunteer and should be treated with at least that level of respect, especially by editors who make many many requests of those of us who give freely of our time and talents to help improve the project by fixing images that others are not able to on their own. A simple "thank you" once done is also much appreciated by the digital restoration practitioners who do this work as an acknowledgement by the requester that he/she has seen the results, accepts them as meeting the request, and appreciates the effort made by the editor who fixed the image. This has nothing whatever to do with "manner police" but is just a matter of common courtesy. As one of the most active digital image restorers in this workshop over the past several years -- but one who also only has the time to work on a limited number of images -- I am very much more likely to pick those to work on that contain the word "please" in the request and bypass (as in this case) those that don't even if they are very simple to do, and I do not think I am alone in that. "Please" and "Thank You" cost absolutely nothing for requesters to say but make, at least to me, a world of difference in whether or not I will accept their requests. Thank you very much for taking the time to explain to me how to check for oversaturation in images. It was very kind and helpful!-- MarshalN20 Talk 14:04, 1 July 2015 (UTC) |
