Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Maher Yousaf Haroon. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Your user page says that you work for, or are a member of, the PBCC. If this is the case then you should not be editing pages related to this subject. Spike 'em (talk) 07:48, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Dear Spike,
I also wished to talk to you on this matter. Apparently, it seems you don't have much information about the global Blind Cricket and Pakistan Blind Cricket Council. You edited both pages without having much information on the topic. Cricket for the Blind is played worldwide since 1922, starting from Australia. Its world apex body is World Blind Cricket Limited. Which was formed in 1996 having 10 full members. Pakistan Blind Cricket Council is one of them. So far, seven (7) Blind Cricket World Cups have been played and Pakistan Team has reached in the final of all 7 world cups and won two out of them. Further, have played 16 International Blind Cricket Series with different countries as well and won 14 out of them. Syed Sultan Shah is the first Captain of Pakistan Blind Cricket team represented Pakistan in 1998, 1st Blind Cricket World Cup, has the honor to bowl first International ball in blind Cricket for Pakistan, has played many International Matches and stood Pakistan to victory stand.
He has been the President of World Blind Cricket Ltd and current Chairman of Pakistan Blind Cricket Council. So can't his information be mentioned on Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that contain all information regarding each Sports and associated personality.
Either remove the Profile of all Sports/game Administrators from Wikipedia, if not then don't discriminate with Blind People. You are words and edits only depicts the discrimination towards Blind game administrators. Please adopt the same policy for sighted and blind people. Either remove all or keep this as well.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Maher Yousaf Haroon (talkcontribs)
I'll answer your points in a moment, even though it is irrelevant to the COI notice. The main question is : do you work for the PBCC, or are you connected to Syed Sultan Shah, as your user page says? If so then you should not edit either page, though you can make suggestions on the talk page of articles and other editors will assess them independently. Spike 'em (talk) 08:31, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
In relation to your other points : the main thing I did to Syed Sultan Shah was to remove a load of references that linked to wikipedia diffs, as WP is not a reliable source as per WP:UGC. I then removed all the content about him from Pakistan Blind Cricket Council as he is not the subject of that article. I have no problem with there being articles about blind cricketers or administrators if they can be shown to pass the notability guidelines such as WP:GNG, which the Syed Sultan Shah article does not do at present. Spike 'em (talk) 09:02, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
Dear Mr. Spike, those articles "definitely "passes the notability guidelines such as WP:GNG, as they are reliable , significant coverage on all forms of media and sources are confirmed as BBC videos and leading newspapers links were given. World Blind Cricket Ltd whom he Preside twice has been registered in UK Companies House and Pakistan Blind Cricket Council is incorporated with Govt of Pakistan and full member of Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan Blind Cricket Council under his leadership has hosted the 5th edition of Cricket World Cup for the Blind in Pakistan/UAE in January 2018, that page has been established in Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Blind_Cricket_World_Cup. So please reconsider your proposal and let this page exist so Blind Cricket administrator must have equal rights on WIKIPEDIA as of the sighted ones.

there were no useful media links on the page, so please provide them? It was not me who nominated the article for deletion.
Could you also confirm if you are connected to PBCC as this is the bigger issue at the moment. Spike 'em (talk) 06:20, 1 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm LuK3. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Pakistan Blind Cricket Council, but you didn't provide a reliable source.
