365 DAYS WITHOUT A HERO

Today marks one year since the passing of our beloved father, role model, mentor, and an exceptional individual, Alhaji Ibrahim Maikaita Muhammad.

Born on October 13th, 1956, in Bindawa L.G.A of Katsina State, Nigeria, Alhaji Maikaita was a son of the late Maigarin Bindawa, Mal. Lawal Dan-Bindi and the Great-grandson of late Mallam Umaru Dallaji, the first Sarkin Fulani of Katsina State. He began his education at Bindawa Primary School, which he attended from 1965 to 1971, and joined the Nigerian Police Force in 1976. He later earned his WAEC certificate in 1979.

In 1985, he married the of his heart desire, Hajiya Binta. Alhaji Maikaita served the Nigerian Police Force with sincerity, dedication, and trustworthiness from 1976 until his retirement in 2011 as a confirmed Assistant Superintendent of Police.

He had served in several places including Gusau, Tsafe, Kwali, Gwagwalada Township Police Station, Gwagwalada Magistrate Court, as well as Gwatargwashi where he served as the DPO. He also held the position of Station Officer (S.O) at the Gwagwalada Divisional Headquarters, and served as the Deputy Imam of the Phase 1 Police Barracks in Gwagwalada for more than 20 years. Alongside his police duties, he was also a hardworking farmer.

Alhaji Maikaita was blessed with 8 children and 17 grandchildren. Among his children are 7 graduates, including memorizers of the Holy Qur'an, a civil servant, a lawyer, a teacher, and a soldier. He passed away on August 13th, 2023, about a month after returning from Hajj.

His legacy and remarkable lifestyle will continue to serve as an inspiration to humanity.
