editAn article you recently created, Asif Tariq, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Thank you, i have worked hard for this article. I just wanted to are there chances that this article will get deleted? and aren't the references mature enough and please can you suggest what changes i have to make? Majid Saleem78 (talk) 12:41, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

Asking for help from random editors
editHi! Please do not post the same request on random editors' pages. This is WP:CANVASSING and completely inappropriate for a single draft. I have removed these messages (that did not already get replies). You already posted on several forums asking for help and this is more than enough. — HELLKNOWZ ▎TALK 23:43, 6 January 2021 (UTC)

editSpeedy deletion nomination of Draft:Asif Tariq
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Asif Tariq, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hatchens (talk) 06:08, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
Comments related to Draft:Asif Tariq
editHi Majid Saleem78, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, yesterday was a miserable day. I think your article has a claim to notability, can you find any additional sources? they do not have to be in English, but they do need to be from what Wikipedia considers reliable and independent sources (no blogs or sources without editorial oversight) and they must have significant coverage that addresses the subject of the article directly and indepth (at least 4 standard paragraphs about something directly related to the subject).
I saw @Calliopejen1 and Gerda Arendt: copy edited the page, so the conflict of interest and general copy edit issues in the text have been addressed (Wikipedia does not allow editors to write about themselves or those they have a connection to). Post any additional sources here and I will add them to the article. I have taken the liberty to add a standard COI notice to your user page; normally this isn't done by others, I hope you don't object, it was just easier to show you than to explain it. Many editors have a COI notice on their page, it's important but not in any way a censure, just a notice.
Don't worry too much about this, I'm fairly certain it will work out with the article being published.
If you have an idea for another article you would like to write, I would be happy to help you determine if the article meets Wikipedia guidelines. I should not be about a subject you have a connection to.
@Hatchens and Robert McClenon:, I think the sources in the article show this passes GNG and the above editors' ce has addressed the COI editing. What are your thoughts about the article at this point?
Best wishes to all from Los Angeles, // Timothy :: talk 22:53, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Adding that more dialogue is on my talk page, and my last request is to refer to the subject by given name, not surname, which is according to the sources Bhat, from Asif Tariq Bhat, and also clarify authorship of the image. We should also watch out for too close wording to the sources, such as "paid a visit" when the source says the same: avoid! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:01, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
- Dear TimothyBlue, I'm with TheAafi's logic i.e., I'm not convinced with the draft. But, the most importantly... we should listen to Robert McClenon view on this. - Hatchens (talk) 04:04, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- Side comment: TheAafi, After seeing Hatchens comment above, I realized you were the main reviewer. I apologize for not pinging you in this conversation; it was rude, but unintentional. // Timothy :: talk 04:34, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- TimothyBlue, I did a few edits in the draft and I'm still not convinced by notability. The Kashmir Monitor piece is two weeks old, and it does make sense to me that "it is a promotion, looking at its tone", this, Rising Kashmir piece is best and reliable but it is a news piece and would be more fitting to be used to cite facts. KNO piece is the bad of everything. Being myself a Kashmiri, "I wonder how do I not know such an acclaimed and known, well appreciated poet who has been appreciated by Kashmiri diaspora".[1] ─ The Aafī (talk) 05:48, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- Reply: I think we agree on the sources, I am leaning on the KM and RK pieces. I also agree the entire article needs a deep ce, if the notability issue is resolved in favor of publishing, I will do the ce before the publish. // Timothy :: talk 06:26, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- TimothyBlue, Do you really think this subject meets GNG? I do not think so. And if it meets any subjective criteria, then which one? ─ The Aafī (talk) 06:39, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- I can see both sides and as you no doubt picked up, I am not entirely sure (if I was I would have been bolder in ce the draft). You and Hatchens have firmer views on this than my own. // Timothy :: talk 06:57, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

- Majid Saleem78, I have restored the CSD tags to the article. Right now the consensus is clearly in favor of deletion, both in this conversation and the previously AfD. This includes myself.
- Normally either the COI issue or the previous AfD would have been enough for me to support deletion, but I made sure the article received every chance. It has and nothing has changed. TheAafi has language skills in this area and they cannot find sources containing WP:SIGCOV.
- Please do not under any circumstances recreate this article. // Timothy :: talk 16:19, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

Hi. My request on the article Draft:Asif Tariq was declined because of lack of sources. Unfortunately is a very small town and is difficult to find many sources. I did my best. The article I created is for a college project. Hope in your help. Majid Saleem78 (talk) 14:05, 6 January 2021 (UTC) I added some more citations as it was mentioned by you. Majid Saleem78 (talk) 14:41, 6 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for your advice. The subject is a renowned Kashmiri poet. Majid Saleem78 (talk) 05:30, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
There is no promotional tone i have written the draft as mentioned in references. I request you please don't criticise the said draft. I request you to help me out. Majid Saleem78 (talk) 06:48, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Thanks TimothyBlue for taking the notice of previous AfD. Draft should be left unsalted, but I guess it would be better to get "all possible" mainspace titles salted. ─ The Aafī (talk) 15:51, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- Asif Tariq Bhat has already been salted by JJMC89 just two days back. ─ The Aafī (talk) 15:55, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- Looks like a big SPI case, BurhanHyder Suhail Asgar, HamidAzhar and now Majid Saleem. The log is. . The new title was created after the earlier one was salted. Ain't this a single guy gaming the system? ─ The Aafī (talk) 16:06, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- 13:56, 19 December 2020 BurhanHyder created page Asif Tariq Bhat
- 08:20, 6 January 2021 Suhail Asgar created page Asif Tariq Bhat (←Created page with 'Asif Tariq Bhat')
- 08:30, 6 January 2021 JJMC8 protected Asif Tariq Bhat
- 10:03, 6 January 2021 Majid Saleem78 ←Created page with 'Asif Tariq'
- Reply: TheAafi, Thanks for sharing the above. Reading your earlier comments had a feeling there was a piece I was missing. Normally the COI or the recent AfD would have been more than enough for me, but I wanted to AGF that this was a innocent new editor needing help. But the above obviously changes that assumption; SPA + COI editing + AfD recreating is a trifecta, the creator should be banned. I just went from feeling sorry for the creator to feeling irritated.
- Looks like a big SPI case, BurhanHyder Suhail Asgar, HamidAzhar and now Majid Saleem. The log is.
- Can you see the name of the image used in the previous article version? This info might tie the above accounts together // Timothy :: talk 16:43, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- TimothyBlue, No idea but Suhail Asgar appears to have uploaded a few images as "own work" on Commons, BurhanHyder uploaded another image here, Majid Saleem78 uploaded this image. That's all what I could find. Everyone has uploaded the images as "own work". ─ The Aafī (talk) 17:48, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- what I observe from these images is that "a same model camera has been used to click each of these images". ─ The Aafī (talk) 18:08, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- The users have uploaded images locally first, and then on Commons. . ─ The Aafī (talk) 18:24, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
- BurhanHyder uploaded File:BhatAsif.jpg locally, and then on Commons on 19 December 2020.
- "File:Asif Tariq.jpg" and "File:Asif Tariq Bhat.jpg" were uploaded locally first, and uploaded on Commons on January 1 and 2, 2021 by Suhail Asgar
- Interestingly, Majid has a similar behavior. He uploaded "File:PoetAsif.jpg" locally and then on Commons on 6 January 2021
- The users have uploaded images locally first, and then on Commons.

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Asif Tariq
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Asif Tariq, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Asif Tariq Bhat. (See section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. // Timothy :: talk 15:44, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
Sockpuppet investigation
editAn editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BurhanHyder, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
