Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of United States senators from Illinois, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Peter Fitzgerald. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of List of the oldest living members of the United States House of Representatives

edit

Hello, MallonAllah12,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Kavyansh.Singh and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, List of the oldest living members of the United States House of Representatives, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Kavyansh.Singh}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Article recreation

edit

Hello, MallonAllah12,

Please do not recreate articles that have been deleted through a consensus decision at AFD. They are subject to speedy deletion, CSD G4.

The only alternative I can suggest is to write up a draft and submit it to Articles for Creation. Doing this can be a way to overcome an AFD deletion decision but it's just a possibility, not a sure thing. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 03:14, 13 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your edits to Jeopardy!

edit

In the Jeopardy! article, you have, multiple times, removed the comma after the year in the sentence that begins with the following text: "From May 16, 2002, to the end of Season 39 ...." Kindly stop removing that comma. It is not optional; rather, it is required under MOS:DATECOMMA, a part of the Wikipedia Manual of Style relating to how to punctuate dates. A lot of people inexplicably get this one wrong, but the guidance is clear (and it's not just a Wikipedia rule, it's a standard rule of English-language punctuation when using the month-day-year date style). Grammatically, the year functions in the nature of an appositive—in the quoted sentence, it tells you which May 16. The sentence would work without the year, although it would lose much of its meaning in that particular example. 1995hoo (talk) 18:29, 8 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Jimmy Carter, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources.
