guru --- bunty aur babli --- dmd
hello... going by boxofficeindia.com i believe gross revenues of guru and bunty aur babli are not correct... kindly check the list of top grossers 2000 to 2009... asa well as box office india shows dum maaro dum collections to be 32 crores... plus satellite rights 8 crores... plus overseas collection approx 9 crores... dum maaro dum gross revenue is also not appropriate.
thank you —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shaurya 88 (talk • contribs) 20:17, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

tarring the image of wikipedia
hi dear friend managerarc.... i feel immense disgust to admit to u dat movies concerning a particular actor like dabangg and wanted have thier gross revenues posted from "GROSS REVENUE" section of BOXOFFICEINDIA.COM but GURU and BUNTY AUR BABLI have thier gross revenues posted from "NETT GROSS REVENUE" section... which decreases it to a considerable level...
is this delibrate... i was shocked to see ur name in the history of those pages... this is derogatory on your account... and sheer partiality towards an actor...
not expected of wikipedia...
thank you. 21 may 2011 roughness (talk) 22:14, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
ovies of abhishek like guru and bunty aur babli have thier gross revenues as amount given in "nett gross revenue section" of boxofficeindia.com... which reduces it considerably as compared to the figures of salman khan movies which have figures of revenue , qouted from "gross revenue" section and not from "net gross revenue section" of BOI. ex-- dabangg and wanted also gross revenue of dum maaro dum is "32 crores in india and 51 crores worldwide" according to BOXOOFICEINDIA.COM and GLAMSHAM.COM. but wikipedia qoutes it to be 22 crores... one of user even made it to 7 crores yesterday... is this not tarring the image of wikipedia... and if wikipedia accepts BOI.COM as standard source of box office... can anyone tell me... how on earth a movie of budget 20crores DMD is labelled flop after making 32 crores in domestic circuit.. and a movie like thank you is tagged average after loosin 9 crores on box office... roughness (talk) 10:28, 22 May 2011 (UTC)--roughness (talk) 10:28, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Hello Managerarc. Hope you're doing good. I noticed you've just identified, maybe mistakenly, Vijay536's (who is the creator of the article) edits as vandalism :) Cheers. Scieberking (talk) 08:43, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'd tried to develop consensus earlier with this sort of compromise, but no one really replied on the talk page. On average, the film has got mixed reviews (positive reviews from two leading critics such as Komal, Taran etc. and mostly mixed responses). Regards, Scieberking (talk) 08:53, 5 June 2011 (UTC)
Rockstar (film)
Hi Managerarc, You might take a look at Rockstar (film). User Chopra Uday appears to continue to make edits very similar to edits that you have previously reverted. I have no idea about Indian cinema and cannot form a sensible view on this but I have reinserted a BLP:prod that he removed from Y.R.F Introduces New Child Star Raj Bhayani without adding a reference. Sorry but I have no idea how to handle this. FrankFlanagan (talk) 12:28, 5 June 2011 (UTC)

Genre edits to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
Hey , How are you doing? I spotted Zindagi didn't have a Genre specified,so pasted couple of links that i got by googling. I should have put a note about it. I am not able to figure out what was wrong with it.

Enthiran
Enthiran page is being owned by hard-core Rajinikanth fans User:Vensatry, User:Bollyjeff and User:Eelamstylez77. They have a conflict of interest in keeping this article neutral. They claim Enthiran is the highest grosser in India (not Sholay and 3 Idiots).
The neutral version is this. Taran Adarash even gives break up. Please help protect wikipedia from such vandalising criminals. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kollyfan (talk • contribs) 16:11, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Help needed as facts are being manipulated
I Appeal to administrators and moderators and even other users to make notes of following 1) http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=J._Jayalalithaa&action=historysubmit&diff=434791233&oldid=434790873 This link given clearly shows that I have provided all the necessary references and added lots of valid information. But the user is smartly trying to make excuse to block me and removing information from the wiki article on Jayalalithaa. Dont know whether this user Sodabottle is an anti Jaya, but its a blame on me that iam reverting. Iam searching for an interview which was telecast on Jaya TV of an eminent journalist and director (Chitra Lakshmanan) on 16th June 2011 saying Jaya was not born in Mysore but in Sriranagam. 2) Also do read this para.. In her 2011 campaign, she will be focusing on corruption. With DMK’s A Raja jailed in connection with the 2G scam, Karunanidhi may find it tough to counter her allegations. Opponents may ask whether she has any locus standi to speak about corruption since she herself has been an accused in many cases. “The DMK foisted some 11 cases over her. She has been acquitted in nine of those. She is fighting the remaining cases,” says Cho, who rates Amma as the best bet for Tamil Nadu politics. source http://www.dnaindia.com/india/report_jayalalithaa-mother-of-comebacks_1524790 3)_ Read this link. Jayalalitha in interview to Times of India says herself that all cases foisted by DMK against her were false http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/DMK-spent-Rs-57-crore-to-foist-cases-against-me-Jaya/articleshow/6995405.cms continuing her tirade against the previous dmk government for the financial crisis being faced by the state, tamil nadu chief minister j. jayalalitha on monday accused the karunanidhi government of wasting nearly rs 57 crore in foisting false cases and fabricating evidence against her. but various courts finally acquitted her, jayalalitha said in theni, inaugurating various projects for her andipatti constituency.Paglakahinka (talk) 17:50, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Re: Name "Kiran"
Not precisely sure why this keeps going back and forth; the name "Kiran" in both Hindi and Sanskrit is a male name. It can be used as a girl's as traditionally male names such as "Alex" and "Sam" would be in western culture. In Arabic & Pashto, there are two schools of thought regarding this name, as there is a female name in both which can be romanized as Kiran, but it is also apparently romanized as Kiryn for females, with Kiran being used for males and females. I don't speak or read Urdu, so I couldn't tell you about the name in that language.
In Hindi & Sanskrit, किरण (Romanized -> Kiran) refers specifically to a ray of light, a sunbeam or a ray of sunlight. Further, every (major) Hindu deity associated with or taken to be the sun is male; when taken in the context of this light originating from the sun, and that there is a corresponding 'female' moonbeam terminology चन्द्रिका (Romanized -> Chandrika), it naturally follows that the name is originally male in application. Taken in a broader context that the name refers to sunbeams, if one examines almost all polytheistic religions, solar applications are male, lunar applications are female.
Taken with this information, the Hindi/Sanskrit (and Kannada for that matter) interpretation name really isn't unisex like Kelley or Ashley; as I stated before, it is clearly male in these languages. Kiran could be considered to be unisex in Arabic, Pashto and other languages. It could also potentially be affected by the proliferation of Islam vs. Hinduism in a given area; honestly, I would be guessing on that point. However, back to my original point, if you want an academic citation, I can produce one, but frankly, that would be like using a Howitzer to kill an ant.

PS, In Hindi AND Sanskrit, Kiran does not mean moonbeam.

Sorry Managerarc:
Not educated enough in the ways of wikipedia, I had left the following message on my own talkpage, which seemed readily accessible. You may or may not see that, so I am appending it here as well.
Dear Managerarc, I am new to wikipedia and still trying to figure out many things, e.g., how to send you an email (and hoping that this might still reach you), how to "cite" a friend's birthday. I can only say that I have now known Vishal (and his family) for about 28 years and I used to be his senior at Hindu College. Vishal left us just a couple of days back here in Toronto where he had come to attend the IIFA 2011 awards and also won the IIFA 2011 for Best Dialogues for the film Ishqia. And, I reconfirmed his date of birth, just in case; so, this is now coming directly from the horse's mouth. Dvermaus (talk) 13:42, 30 June 2011 (UTC) deepak
