Syntax Records
editYou need more sources that discuss the label at length, not simply the artists or their albums. But keep up the good work. Walter Görlitz (talk) 07:26, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Syntax Records. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. - Thanks. I read the guidelines and your recommendations and I'm sorry for removing the template after adding a couple of more links. To be honest I don't know what else would be necessary to establish notability after looking at other articles for similarly sized labels. The artists on the roster are clearly notable and the label itself is talked about by a lot of acceptable sources. This is my first article (I've edited a few others) but I'm learning and want to get it right. Syntax was one of the 3 big Christian hip-hop labels along with Uprok and Gotee back in the day so it seemed like a notable article topic; it was even mentioned in other Wiki articles so I thought I could create the article and then add links. You couldn't write the story of the subgenre without Syntax.Mancuso88 (talk) 08:32, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Mancuso88. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Syntax Records, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
- instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. The number of articles that you've edited that are associated with Syntax Records is extremely high. You’re not interested in the broader subject of Christian hip hop or CCM. Please explain what sort of association you have with the record label, even if it is none at all. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:39, 16 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hi. I am in fact very interested in Christian hip-hop and CCM, and that is why I created a Syntax Records page. I chose it for my first article because it was the biggest label or artist out of all the ones I know that didn't already have an article. I have been a fan of that sub-genre and the artists of the late 90s-early 2000s and the other labels from that period (Gotee, Uprok, Tooth and Nail) all had articles. I have also edited AdeeM's page a bit and I think a couple of others, but haven't done much else as I was waiting to see what I needed to do to get this first article accepted. I patterned it after the Uprok Records article, which was a comparable label but its article is sourced much less than mine, so I'd prefer feedback on what more I'm expected to do, rather than speculation about what I am or am not interested in. I'm not associated with Syntax but I have been to concerts and tours featuring the artists. Mancuso88 (talk) 08:20, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
