editHi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. - Hi @Materialscientist: Hydarnes I and II have been confused on many wikis were they were randomly associated cross-wiki with others, sometimes with several articles on the same person on the same wiki. Since this morning I have restarted the cross wiki association which works fine now. Only exceptions are a few wiki (i.e. ptwiki & enwiki) where several articles on the same person exist with generally one of the 2 being one sentence long. I thought the enwiki accepted the "redirect and merge history" approach, is it not the case ? --ManuRoquette (talk) 14:44, 10 June 2020 (UTC)

editHello, I'm BlueboyLINY. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Coram, New York, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. BlueboyLINY (talk) 13:54, 28 June 2021 (UTC)

Stick to languages you know
editIf you thought that ...the hunting of gorillas having brought their population at a critical level was correct English, you have no business editing this Wikipedia. Kindly stick to editing in languages that you speak fluently. Adding error-strewn text and expecting other people to correct it for you is highly disruptive. 185.104.136.20 (talk) 12:40, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- Good afternoon IP, Thank you for your kind message which (in addition to being of the utmost courtesy) is completely in accordance with the principles of Wikipedia as I indeed introduced "incomprehensible text" (cf Wp:CIR) by introducing a typo (at->to) in an article.
- I shall now remove myself entirely from the internet and refrain from using language ever again in the hope it soothes your anger.
- Kind regard, ManuRoquette (talk) 13:00, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
