I’m new to this - what was my epic failure? Redpen2 (talk) 17:17, 4 January 2024 (UTC)
- You should read WP:NPOV first. The text you added included this: "In education the Company has created a development programme to ensure that talent is nurtured at all levels to meet the needs of the industry." This is not neutral, in fact it reads like an advert. It is also not cited to an independent reliable source. More appropriate wording would be to write something like "the Company offers services including development programmes, consultancy and welfare for industry participants" (and supported by a reference to something other than their own website). Aleisha Rose copyedits
Hi! First of all, thanks for your much more thorough copyedit of the page above, which I briefly touched a little while ago. You made a number of great changes, a few of which I felt silly for not having caught first!
One question: I had changed "resides in Brisbane. Queensland" to "resides in Brisbane, Queensland," and your edit reverted this change. I'm a long-time copyeditor but still pretty new to WP:MOS; in my experience outside of Wikipedia, a comma would be correct there, but I may have missed something particular to either en.wiki or Australian name places. Wanted to check in with you whether it was an error or not, rather than just change it back!
Thanks for your great contributions to open knowledge here, and happy editing :-D Chiselinccc (talk) 11:46, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Chiselinccc:, your edit is correct, mine is an error. There was an edit conflict when I tried to save mine as I was changing it at the same time as you. I thought I had checked everything to make sure I didn't revert your edit with mine in resolving the conflict but missed the comma. Thanks for spotting it! MarcGarver (talk) 12:57, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Oh geez, that makes sense! Thanks for clarifying and sorry if it was dumb to ask about this- I've bumped up against edit conflicts before and so far I've just kind of backed out of the room and not pushed my changes, so I didn't even know what happened if you "publish" at that point. I'm trying to get myself to move to a desktop environment, where I can deal with stuff like that more effectively, but my lazy instinct is still winning sometimes to stay on mobile!
- Again, thanks for all you do- I see rockstar contributors like you and feel motivated to keep learning, as overwhelming as the MOS etc can feel sometimes. Cheers! Chiselinccc (talk) 14:25, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- If you are editing via the desktop view, when an edit conflict occurs each section of text (anything separated by white space I think) is shown with your version on one side, and the conflicting version on the other side of the screen. You can then check which version of each section you want to save using radio buttons. It's much easier to use than the mobile view. MarcGarver (talk) 15:38, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks! I'm used to side by side diffs from git version control in programming, so looks like I should power up and jump on in. Take care! Chiselinccc (talk) 15:50, 28 February 2024 (UTC)

MarcGarver, I realise that you Satanists think Wiki is your personal site
MarcGarver, I realise that you Satanists think Wiki is your personal sitefo rpushing your praise of him and no doubt he is delighted how gullible you are but out in hte real worl dthe Bible is truth and Jesus himself referred to THE FLOOD so I think you need to get off your petty high horse and leave my correction in place! I suggest you buy a good KJV Study Bible and learn soem real truth and not rely on what you were braainswashed with during the Planet of \apes years.
A|ND |FI HARLES DARWIN HIMSELF - ever heard of him - proved that the Flood was a real worldwide catastrophe whose effects are still visible all round the world .
|I'm reediting the article in question to state that all gas, oil and coal is from organic matter washed off Earth during the 371 days of The Flood and the resulting crustal alterations 200 years later during the height of he \Ice Age.
I suggest you get some reael education and throw out all your PLanet of apes videos: they is just garbage. 92.40.41.205 (talk) 16:33, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- If you can provide a reliable source where a scientist in a peer reviewed journal says that "The Flood" is a real historical event and that all the things like the fossil record that stretches back 4 billion years are wrong, then I will be on your side. As no such source exists then your edit will keep being reverted. MarcGarver (talk) 17:12, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
