Removing vandalism

edit

Hello, and thank you for removing vandalism from Columbian exchange. We appreciate this, but unfortunately your edit was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you. Sorry I missed the vandalism in my once-over. Thanks for letting me know! Marchiviste (talk) 14:02, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

April 2024

edit

Hi Marchiviste! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Merrill Piepkorn that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 21:20, 4 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the clarification! Marchiviste (talk) 00:54, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hey, I noticed you did quite a bit of work on the entry to fix the errors. Would you perhaps be up to curating the page as the season progresses? Normally I take care of most of the team pages but I'm spread a bit thin and can only do so much. I appreciate any help, especially from someone who cares enough to devote their time. Absolutely! I would be glad to.
Unrelated, but I was looking at Template:Infobox NCAA Division I ice hockey rankings and saw you put it together back in the day, and was looking at creating something new as USA Hockey/The Rink Live now runs the second poll rather than USA Today. I still haven't quite got templates figured out, is this something you'd be up to do and/or help out with? Thanks! Marchiviste (talk) 13:41, 22 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I must have completely missed that about USA Today. Because it affects all templates, the original line needs to be kept. I added an additional line specifically for USA Hockey, so that can be used in the future. I don't want to use the whole name (USA Hockey/The Rink Live) because when descriptors in the box are too long it tends to screw up the format.
BTW, as a side note, Wikipedia does not notify me if you reply to my post on your talk page unless you specifically address it as a response to me rather than a general response. However, I do not know how to make a post like that myself, so I can't advise you. If you want to make sure I see something from you and get a notification, you can post it on my talk page, that way I'll see it the next time I log on.
