Short descriptions on Korean monarch pages

edit

Hi, just a heads up on WP:SD40. Short descriptions should ideally be <= 40 characters long. If you go much over that, they get truncated and not fully shown, which defeats their purpose. Anecdotally I've seen some that are like 44 characters long that still get shown in most important contexts. toobigtokale (talk) 02:01, 25 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Looks like 이성계1 doesn't really understand English

If you want them to stop, you probably need to talk to them in Korean. (If you don't speak Korean well, you need to find someone else.) 112.171.88.56 (talk) 05:09, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Romanization for pre-1945 Korean historical figures

edit

Hi, per WP:NC-KO, the romanization for pre-1945 Korean historical figures, such as individuals from the Goryeo and Joseon dynasties, should be McCune–Reischauer romanization. I've noticed you tried to change MR romanization to Revised romanization on some articles, and I've reverted those good-faith edits. WP:NC-KO was revised last year, so I am aware that some may not have seen the changes and still think Revised Romanization is still the standard for pre-1945 figures. ⁂CountHacker (talk) 21:05, 6 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please do not move a page to a title that is harder to follow, or move it unilaterally against naming conventions or consensus. This includes making page moves while a discussion remains underway. We have some guidelines to help with deciding what title is best for a subject. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Thank you. Liz Read! Hello, Maria0215,
Over the history of Princess Hexiao (Qianlong) you have moved it multiple times to different page titles, sometimes moving it to a different page title and then reverting your article move. Can we stick with the current page title now that we probably have a dozen redirects pointing to the article? Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 20:46, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've been trying to eliminate the Qianlong part and for some reason when it doesn't work it reverts to another title I previously typed but not saved, and automatically saves it. Everytime I return to the article the same thing happens. That's also the case with a few other articles I edited, most recently those of her half-sisters the 2 Princess Hejing. I have no idea why it happens, it might be because of my phone but I'm not sure. Maria0215 (talk) 21:17, 12 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

McCune–Reischauer Romanization for pre-1945 Korean historical figures

edit

Hello @Maria0215, just reminding you again that for pre-1945 historical Korean figures such as Taejo Yi Sŏng-gye need to be romanized using M-R romanization according to WP:NCKO. I noticed that in this edit [1], you tried to change it to Revised Romanization. Please refrain from romanizing the names of pre-1945 historical Korean figures in Revised Romanization. ⁂CountHacker (talk) 06:35, 3 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
