Sorry for belayed reply. The user in question is Kay Uwe Böhm (talk · contribs). He is known for persistent long-term trolling and hopping over a very wide range of IPs (he rarely uses accounts). Cheers. Materialscientist (talk) 23:08, 27 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I see that he was banned in the German WP as well. --MarioS (talk) 12:14, 28 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

thank you.

Dear MarioS,

Thank you for improving the random oracle article.

I thought a 4-round Feistel construction was enough -- possibly I misread the Craig Gentry and Zulfikar Ramzan reference in that article.

So I am glad that you added a reference. So now I know that 4 rounds are inadequate, but fourteen rounds are sufficient. (Perhaps someday I will read that reference carefully enough to understand: Why are 4 rounds are inadequate, but fourteen rounds are sufficient ?).

Vielen Dank. --DavidCary (talk) 17:58, 4 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

No problem. The way I read it, the Gentry-Ramzan result applies only to a very specific setting, not in general. --MarioS (talk) 15:26, 6 December 2013 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
