Help:IPA/Lebanese Arabic

edit

Hi, is it possible for you to create Help:IPA/Lebanese Arabic in the same way, for example, Help:IPA/Tunisian Arabic is done? I have no experience with phonology so I wouldn't know how to do so. Thanks, Nehme1499 (talk) 18:14, 3 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hey, thanks for asking!
I'm afraid I can't right now because I'm not aware of the difference between the many varieties in Lebanon. Plus, allophonic transcriptions requires an expert and I am merely an amateur. I do have plans to update the Lebanese Arabic page though as it as quite important for the 'Northern Levantine Arabic' vernacular but I'm focusing on DA right now.

Aleppo Arabic moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Aleppo Arabic, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hitro talk 08:20, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Also to note, I tried to find references to source the content but I couldn't find any. Please add the references so that claims can be verified then submit the draft for review. Hitro talk 08:25, 5 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

Nehme pronunciation

edit

Hey, how are you? It's been a long time! I just wanted to ask you a quick favour: can you confirm that نعمة‎ (Nehme) is pronounced [ˈnæʕme] in Lebanese Arabic? I've found this video of someone pronouncing نعمة‎ ("Maya Nehme") at 1:37. Also here at 0:05 ("Peter Nehme") and here right at the beginning ("Eliana Nehme"). Thanks in advance, Nehme1499 (talk) 15:36, 26 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hey! Sorry but I was busy for a while and I've just returned. It does sound to me like how many Lebanese would pronounce it but I'd need an authentic source before writing it, otherwise someone will end up editing it. --Mark Enlightenment (talk) 20:07, 28 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Your draft article, Draft:Aleppo Arabic

edit

Hello, Mark Enlightenment. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Aleppo Arabic".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Interstellarity T 🌟 14:51, 13 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:23, 19 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
