Conflict of interest/vanity

Mr. Frutkin (assuming your real name matches your user name): You need to be advised of Wikipedia's conflict-of-interest policies. The fact that you have written, in whole or in large part, an aricle about yourself runs afoul of these policies. Normally, such vanity articles would be deleted almost immediately, as almost all vanity articles are about persons who do not meet our notability policies. You are different in that you do meet those policies, and this fact is verifiable by the independent, reliable sources you have provided. As autobiographical articles on Wikipedia go, you've actually done a pretty good job, but it's still autobiographical and highly frowned upon.

Here's the vest course of action: 1) Leave the messages about COI and autobiography in place, as well as the other warning messages, and simply stop working on this article yourself. This wil be sen as a good-faith move on your part, and make the administrators and such happy. 2) Let some other editor come along and rewrite this article to a point where it doesn't have as much of your fingerprints on it. After a while, some other editors and administrators will give the article another look and adjust or remove the messages as necessary.

Wanda: The fact that you are writing this article on Frutkin's behalf only confirms that this is a vanity or promotional article. We simply don't allow those at Wikipedia. Since you have a conflict of interest regarding this article, there's not much you can do but hope that someone else not connected with him will write an article about him. What about Margaret Atwood or Elizabeth Hay? You have those people on Wikipedia, they're Canadian authors. How did you verify them? If I remove everything but his books and links to his awards, would that work? Confused!

Speedy deletion of Mark Frutkin
