Hotpoint Washing Machines

edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Hotpoint Washing Machines, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. A tag has been placed on Validate (McAfee), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not indicate the importance or significance of that web location. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Alphanumeric List of Known Microsoft Windows Registry Keys

edit

I suspect that you contacted me from the IP 92.232.150.252. I left this message on the talk page for the IP address, but I wanted to make sure you receive this. (If you did not contact me you can ignore this message).

Thank you for contacting me and explaining the context of the article. I am still not quite certain what kind of article you envision that is not already dealt with, or could be dealt with, in the article Windows Registry. If you envision fully documenting the windows registry, I think that is a very bad idea. Wikipedia does not seek to catalog all the information in the world; it is not a directory, or a guide book. However there is a sister project of wikipedia call wikibooks that is ideal for such a project and they could greatly use expertise in expanding the book wikibooks:Windows registry hacks. I would strongly recommend that you take your talents there.

If you think I am mistaken in the deletion you are welcome to recreate the article with proper context. However, as I don't think that such a list would add to an encyclopedia, I would bring it to a wider community discussion to consider deletion.

If you need any help or have any questions don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Jon513 (talk) 01:08, 10 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
