Expansion.
editThe World War Two history is absent, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. If no one else will, I'll take a shot at it, a good crack at this rabbit hole... Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 07:01, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
Draft status.
editI see page for Wahai has been moved from the mainspace to a draft, unfortunately I cannot reverse this decision, due to unforseen technical problems, as my device simply lacks the option to do so. I oppose the decision, my reasoning is listed below and is as follows. For one, the original cause for moving is listed here; "Unreliable sources, probably wrong information (number of inhabitants), padding with info not about Wahai...", this is the original edit summary. I do not see how the citations provided qualify as unreliable, due to a lack of underlining elaboration, there is little more to say here besides my disagreement. As for "Probably wrong.", unless there are reliable, published citations that contradict this, then by "Probably wrong." the meaning changes from an accusation to conjecture, from an educated opinion to blind guessing. And "Padding with info not about Wahai.", where? The closest thing to this I can see is in the earthquake section, where I provide context for the ensuing discussion of recent history and how the earthquake in question affected the town, but this isn't padding, it's setup for information which the reader would lack the context to understand in the absentia of. And, I should also mention, this article was reviewed by another editor, prior to draft status. I cannot see why this moving was in any way justified beyond the above points, which are at best allegations and at worst factually incorrect. If there is no dispute in my belief that this article does not belong in the draftspace, I will eventually manage to fix the technical problems and move it myself, seeing no weight in the reasons provided above as to why this page should be a draft. I intend no offense and cite my previous behavior as evidentiary of this trend of intention. Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 08:43, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- Considering that the source you used for the population is (apart from the many other issues with it) for Amahai, not for Wahai (see e.g. the URL, and the map), I think that the burden of proof for the population is on you, not on others. When you look at that page in English (and why would we use it in Russian on enwiki?), it is about Amahai, which is located elsewhere, but has the exact same population? Apart from that, there is no indication at all why that site would be a reliable site. Fram (talk) 11:59, 3 June 2022 (UTC)
- Its done now, is there anything else that justifies why it is still in the draftspace? Even with this, the lone error by itself does not provide a reasonable justification for having moved the page, I see no reason in using what is effectively a step away from the nuclear option (I.e., deletion.) on a page with a single small error. If there is anything else, including in my recent efforts to correct this and to add additional information to the article, let me know so I can fix it, otherwise, since there is a lack of reasoning for why it remains a draft, it shouldn't have been moved out of the mainspace. I have seen countless examples of minor errors like this, and every time, they are fixed with very little effort, much less by moving the page to a draft. Again, I should note that the page has been reviewed, meaning that Wikipedia:NPPDRAFT does not apply by the literal definition of its criteria. I once again intend no offense, but I find the justification for why the page got moved to be weak at best and erroneous at worst. Please keep me posted, with my regards, and that should be all for now on my end. Markovich Rashkolnikov (talk) 06:23, 4 June 2022 (UTC)
