Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, Marramark. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Blackout (Britney Spears album), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Stop citing yourself; see WP:REFSPAM. Binksternet (talk) 00:54, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

editHi Marramark! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Blackout (Britney Spears album) several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Blackout (Britney Spears album), please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 01:30, 1 October 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
Ok, now that I saw all of this I totally get it. Had no idea about any of these rules but it all makes sense and I get that I can't submit edits on projects I'm affiliated with. Marramark (talk) 7:11 pm, 7 January 2024, Sunday (15 days ago) (UTC−5)
Decline reason:
Please describe concisely and clearly how your edits merited a block, what you would do differently, and what constructive edits you would make. Please read Wikipedia's Guide to appealing blocks for more information. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 09:20, 23 January 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
What edits will you be making instead? 331dot (talk) 09:26, 8 January 2024 (UTC)
- Please describe what constructive edits you would make.-- Deepfriedokra (talk) 01:35, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
- I won't make any edits for any items I'm personally or professionally involved with now that I know the rule. As for constructive edits I'd make, they'd be limited to mostly music history errors on pages regarding dates, charts, discographies since that's the kind of research I do when preparing and writing articles. But definitely won't add any facts, figures, or quotes that are connected to projects I work or worked on professionally and personally. Marramark (talk) 01:34, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
