Fair enough - it is reasonable that you should retain a copyright on the larger one. It is an excellent image of the two species. You might also consider uploading images to Commons, rather than directly into this encyclopedia. From there it can be used in the other projects, including other languages.
If you live in WA, you might be interested in Wikipedia:WikiProject Western Australia or Wikipedia:WikiProject Perth. Good on ya for contributing. Regards, cygnis insignis 11:57, 4 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Love your photos! You should consider uploading them to Commons

edit

Thank you for uploading images/media such as Image:Mamukala.jpg to Wikipedia! There is however another Wikimedia foundation project called Wikimedia Commons, a central media repository for all free media. In the future, please consider creating an account and uploading media there instead. That way, all the other language Wikipedias can use them too, as well as our many sister projects. This will also allow our visitors to search for, view and use our media in one central location. If you wish to move previous uploads to Commons, see Wikipedia:Moving images to the Commons (you may view images you have previously uploaded by going to your user contributions on the left and choosing the 'image' namespace from the drop down box). Please note that non-free content, such as images claimed as fair use, cannot be uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons. Help us spread the word about Commons by informing other users, and please continue uploading!

Thanks again for sharing your photos! --Kralizec! (talk) 18:43, 5 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Greater Crested Tern

edit

I've put this up for FAC, but a question as arisen over the licensing for Image:Crestedtern2.jpg, since it give the photographer's name as Martin Pot, but your user name as the uploader. Could you amend the summary please - I'd hate to lose that flight picture. jimfbleak (talk) 10:08, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the confusion - I've updated the Image:Crestedtern2.jpg page to reference both my real name and wikipedia username. Martybugs (talk) 13:04, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, it wouldn't normally have mattered, but at FAC, everything is fine-tooth combed. jimfbleak (talk) 14:50, 28 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Higher resolution of heron?

edit

bigger resolution available?

People are trying to make up their minds over several heron images at FPC right now. Yours might stand a chance of making FP with a higher resolution. Please upload one if you have. Thanks. Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 18:44, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

At 1000x1000, it meets the requirements, but it will compare poorly to the other two images, which are 1430 and 1679 in their larger dimensions. My simple prediction is that people will whine about it not being particularly high resolution, and will lean towards opposing it. At 1000x1000, I won't nominate it, but feel free to do it yourself if you want. Best, Papa Lima Whiskey (talk) 12:09, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Notification of automated file description generation

edit

Your upload of File:CarpobrotusAequilaterus.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks!
