Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can click here to ask a question on your talk page and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

If you insist on using the copyrighted text, please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. In short, someone at PDX.EDU needs to email proof of permission to use the text to [email protected].

In detail:

For text, you can send an email, ideally using the language from the template at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries:
  1. From an address associated with the original publication to [email protected];
  2. After sending the email, place {{OTRS pending}} on the article's talk page.
Someone will reply to your email, indicating whether the content and your license is acceptable and update the page to indicate that the confirmation of the license has been received. • Gene93k (talk) 01:59, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Maseeh2019. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Maseeh College of Engineering and Computer Science, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. • Gene93k (talk) 01:59, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

  My personal advice: Please don't do this. That said, if you continue to edit the page, you must declare that your contributions are paid on your Wikipedia user page. Finally, please note that a Wikipedia article cannot be based on just what the subject says about itself but on what independent reliable published sources say about it. • Gene93k (talk) 01:59, 4 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
