- Hello,
- I wondered if you could give some examples of what I could change please? I’ve tried really hard to put sources in and be objective and I’m not sure where it sounds like opinion or not neutral? Some examples would be really helpful as this is my third rejection and I feel a bit lost with it.
- thanks Matthewfoliverathotmaildotcom (talk) 12:48, 18 January 2024 (UTC)
- I read Eric Ravilious’s page to get an idea of how it is written for another Sussex artist and feel like mine reads in the same way? But maybe not. Thanks Matthewfoliverathotmaildotcom (talk) 12:53, 18 January 2024 (UTC)

Spinster300 (talk) 07:12, 26 January 2024 (UTC)- Thank you so much Spinster300! Really appreciate your time making the article better, it is so appreciated as I was getting stuck. You have done a great job. Thanks again 🙂 Matthewfoliverathotmaildotcom (talk) 10:39, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for this interesting article. As you may have seen, I have added some content from the always useful Encyclopaedia of Hove and Portslade, which devotes a full page to him. I will also now nominate the article to appear on the Did you know? section of the Main Page, where interesting facts from new articles are presented. His being mistaken for a German spy during his Recording Britain endeavours is too good to resist! Thanks also to Spinster300 for assistance given here and good collaboration. - I must track that book down, it looks excellent! Thanks so much for all the extra info, there was a lot a did not know previously, especially the bit about the German spy mistake! Do you have any more info about that? Thanks again Matthewfoliverathotmaildotcom (talk) 11:44, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- It's available in Hove Library, but only in the reference section as it is 15 volumes (!). It is very strong on biographies of local worthies, including plenty of artists and similar. There is no further detail on exactly what the spy incident involved, so I suspect it didn't lead to any serious consequences. I discovered this (then draft) article from a link made to John Leopold Denman, whose article I wrote and of whom I have made a particular study, as a fan of his architecture. I hold, or have easy access to, a large range of sources on Brighton, Hove and wider Sussex subjects, so if there are any other "local" articles you consider writing in the future let me know and I can see what I can help with. Cheers, Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 12:03, 26 January 2024 (UTC)
- Dear Hassocks5489 and Matthewfoliverathotmaildotcom, it was a pleasure working with you. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance going forward with any of your local Brighton articles. Kind regards, Spinster300 (talk) 12:38, 26 January 2024 (UTC).

DYK for Charles Knight (artist)
editOn 15 March 2024, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Charles Knight (artist), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Charles Knight's wartime painting activities led to him being mistaken for a German spy? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Charles Knight (artist). You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Charles Knight (artist)), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
