Torrent project impact assessment

edit

Metrics on our project performance are pretty hard to come up with, but I have taken a run at it here. I could not figure out if eMule tracks a file's accumulated upload figure. - I think it does it only on a per session basis, but not over the life of the file's availability for upload - I suspect I am underestimating how much I sent out over eMule. -- Paleorthid 16:28, 18 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Torrent Project Update - Not sure if you know, but, the 0.5 WPCD released a couple of days ago, and we made a torrent for it. It seems to be running, for both files (.iso and a compress .bz2). Come check it out! Here!. Nominaladversary 03:34, 9 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Quantum Leap - How Tess Was Won.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Quantum Leap - How Tess Was Won.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 03:44, 21 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Quantum Leap - Double Identity.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Quantum Leap - Double Identity.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Keysuc7 (talk) 07:29, 8 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:QuickPar.png

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:QuickPar.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:00, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Articles for deletion nomination of Secret Maryo Chronicles

edit

I have nominated Secret Maryo Chronicles, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Secret Maryo Chronicles (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

AfD nomination of Secret Maryo Chronicles

edit

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Secret Maryo Chronicles. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Secret Maryo Chronicles (3 nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:07, 14 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Request for another video

edit

Hi, Mattwj2002. Your video of Minnehaha Falls cannot be beat. I wonder if you could possibly make another video for the Minneapolis article, or suggest someone else who can. We need a video of the Target Corporation building animation downtown. Their Halloween wasn't as good this year as last, but maybe Christmas? (I took this still photo last year while standing on Hennepin Avenue about 10th or 11th St.) -SusanLesch (talk) 16:05, 21 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hi again, Matt. Four years later, I was still wondering about this and looked at the deletion log. Apparently the video is copyrighted so derivative works are not permitted. Maybe this note will save you some work someday. -SusanLesch (talk) 13:03, 11 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
