editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 08:20, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Copy editing
editHello Maximilian,
I happened to notice your appeal regarding the edit by the IP below, so had a look at the article. Although I live in the UK, I took the liberty to knock this addition into shape and in line with Wikipedia style. I have been careful not to remove too much copy, although I believe it is still too lengthy. I read that the editor is elderly and is known to you.

I imagine that it is Mrs Peter Martin (I deleted that from the start of the new edit)
I have posted an encouraging note on the Talk page of IP 64.222.123.149, to explain to the editor that I have been trying to help. Kind regards, -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 11:19, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hi-I added a citation to the Edmund, Wisconsin article with the information from the new edits. However, the new edits still need citations. I will start looking around for any books about the history of Edmund, Wisconsin and of Cobb, Wisconsin. Thanks-RFD (talk) 11:25, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Thank you, RFD,for that. -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 11:38, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- You are welcome. Several counties in Wisconsin like Portage County, Wisconsin have histories that are online. I am not sure about Iowa County. The histories are probably there but may not be on line. The local public libraries probably have the information. Thank you-RFD (talk) 11:44, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- to both of you, thanks! i appreciate this. and i informed the editor (who is in fact one of the curators of the history society of berlin, vermont). if he's not too frustrated he'll open an account with wikipedia soon. in fact he has to, because he wants to upload historic photos his father took in the early 20th century. Maximilian (talk) 11:44, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- and maybe one of you can help copy editing here: Cobb, Wisconsin. a (far too) massive history section by the same user, with a massive revert. Maximilian (talk) 11:49, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
I would be happy to take a look at that, too, but as a Welshman who has never visited the USA, I shall have to tread very carefully, not to tread on toes! Although I am sure RFD will keep an eye on my copy editing. -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 12:01, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- I reverted the good faith edit of Chip123456 with the Cobb, Wisconsin article. The Village of Cobb has a website with a history section that I added that as a citation. I am concern about possible copyright violations in the Edmund and Cobb, Wisconsin articles and this needs to be address as soon as possible. This could be released into the public domain but we just do not know. Thank you-RFD (talk) 12:39, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- thanks! i informed the user. Maximilian (talk) 12:45, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- Note: It has been (rightly) removed again by another user.--Chip123456 (talk) 14:53, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- Many thanks-RFD (talk) 15:37, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
Hello again, Maximilian!
Regarding Edmund only
It would seem that I have been wasting my time:

It is surely not published material, and has not been copied to Wikipedia. Could you comment please. Kind regards, -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 17:48, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- The edits in the Edmund, Wisconsin article were probably copied from the Dodgeville Chronicle dating to 1935. Wikipedia has a strict policy involving copyright material that is not in the public domain. Many thanks-RFD (talk) 18:25, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- The article is cover by the United States Copyright Law even though is may not be published on line-thank youRFD (talk) 18:40, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
i'm sorry for the mess. i wasn't aware of the fact that the user wasn't aware of copyright restrictions. at least one of the texts he inserted (the one about the history of edmund until 1935) was indeed published later than 1930. it's sometimes hard to understand for newbees of wikipedia how the CC system works. Maximilian (talk) 19:31, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- Don't worry we were all newbie once-you learn by doing. One thing that helps is being nice to people and if necessary moved away from a bad situation until things settled-Thank you-RFD (talk) 19:50, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- I couldn't agree more, Maximilian. I felt it was a shame if anecdotal material like that is lost forever as we all get older. Just wanted to help. __ Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 20:23, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
- EDMUND again: today or tomorrow the now officially registered user will probably insert a brief historical section into the article about Edmund, Wisconsin. he just sent me the text, and it's basically okay now. Maximilian (talk) 17:46, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
- Excellent news. I shall keep an eye open! Thank you for the information. -- Gareth Griffith-Jones (talk) 17:53, 29 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Abdulaziz Alshehri moved to draftspace
editAn article you recently created, Abdulaziz Alshehri, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Redalert2fan (talk) 22:24, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
- hi, i am an experienced wikipedian, mainly working for the german wikipedia and wiki commons. the deletion request, pending for a week, would have been perfectly okay, because mr. alshehri wanted to provide sources, and i am still collecting some. i wrote the article because he was a star here at gamescom in cologne. in the german wikipedia it would be considered as an unpolite gesture to move the article to draftspace without discussion. best, Maximilian (talk) 22:35, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
- I see your point about the deletion request, I actually moved it to draft space because it seemed like a promising article. Maybe there is a difference between the English and German Wikipedia in this case but I moved it under Wikipedia:Drafts#Moving articles to draft space under the section "During new page review" which to my understanding this page qualifies for. I did not mean to be unpolite in any way. If you want I will revert myself and tag the article for WP:PROD again reverting to how it was before (linking to this discussion). I understand that you know how the pending deletion works, but I do want to remind you that with the draft you have more time to find sources and improve the article. Anyways again, I did not mean to be unpolite and thanks for your response. Redalert2fan (talk) 22:46, 30 August 2018 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Abdulaziz Alshehri
editHello, Maximilian Schönherr. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Abdulaziz Alshehri".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Legacypac (talk) 09:41, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
- i was so frustrated about the deletion when i had published the article that i lost interest in following up after it was moved to the draft space. Maximilian (talk) 18:01, 1 March 2019 (UTC)
