If the content is libelous then you demonstrate the genuineness of your concern by commencing legal action, otherwise it could appear that your attempts to censure are disengenuine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Petergal1958 (talk • contribs) 07:15, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Robson
editI agree that the section is problematic (mainly because it's so long it gives undue-weight to the controversies) however it seems to be reasonably well sourced and supported by a number of citations. I don't think it's realistic to expect that information to be kept out of Wikipeda. A far more likely outcome is a much condensed version. Sarah 21:12, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Sarah. Unfortunately there's so much that is totally false and libelous in the material that i have removed. Not just the fact that Naomi's date of birth was wrong. The dis or mis information spread by rival tv channels about Naomi and reported wrongly by numerous newspapers is why I've removed this material.I guess the problem lies in that the material "appears" to be well sourced and carries citations . Its just that its sources are not accurate. I'm happy to let you talk with Naomi directly if you'd like to go through it all line by line ?
- I've restored the controversy section to the Naomi Robson article. While I agree that the tone of the section is inappropriate in parts, the entire section should not be removed. If you believe that parts of this section are defamatory, one option that I would suggest is to e-mail Wikipedia with details of the errors in the article. Any libelous material will then be deleted per Wikipedia policy. Gobonobo T C 03:06, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
Max is a publicist in Naomi Robson's employ
editHi Max,
Wikipedia is a not-for-profit enterprise, so editing articles with what could be construed as a financial motivation is dangerous territory and could get you blocked. I recommend you read Wikipedia:Autobiography, which deals with a very similar issue, namely individuals editing their own entries (or in your case, individuals having other individuals in their employ their entries; happens all the time with US politicians and has resulted in a great many blockings and controversies). That article will give you some helpful tips for resolving any problems that may exist with the Naomi Robson article. Frankly Naomi does not own her article and does not have any special prerogatives when it comes to arranging its content; that is up to the Wikipedia community. You can also have a look at Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons for further useful hints and tips. Cheers. Slac speak up! 03:10, 1 February 2010 (UTC)
