Ibid
editHey there, "ibid" has no meaning in Wikipedia. It is a little bit tricky but see how I used the same reference three times in the biography of Rosenthal. If you want to repeat the same reference add this: and the next time use . Name the reference and then use the same name the second time you use it. I had to revert your changes to Palisades Park, please make them again, but please don't remove my references, you can move them if the fact is moved, but each reference supports a specific fact in the article. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 01:11, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
You can use these templates:
-
-
-
Palisades Park
editI think I have restored most of your contributions, I have been adding them from the top down to the PAP article. Your edits damaged the existing references or removed them completely. Please continue to edit, but use the standard cite templates I left on your page. I also left an example of how to use a single reference for multiple citations. If there is anything I did not restore, please add it again, you can link it to one of the existing references. I started to restore the deleted references to your version, but it was easier to start from mine, and readd yours, since I had the references already formatted properly.
I also formatted the references to the two biographies you added. Excellent writing, don't be discouraged. Are you going to add photos? Have you also considered adding the article to Knol and adding them to Findagrave? Do you do genealogy? Are you related?
Learning the wiki html markup can be difficult to master. Do you have access to the New York Times archive? I also found the missing birthdates for you. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 19:52, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Have you considered also writing an article on How Did He Look?. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 19:59, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
If you need a New York Times article, I can get them for you so you don't have to pay. You should continue with your changes PAP to the article, the second time editing should be a lot quicker, and faster than me comparing the two versions. Try not to delete any of the existing references. If two facts differ, say as to the date that the park was sold, use both and reference both, until one is proved wrong. I asked if you were related, thinking that you would have access to photos. Have you looked at the Time magazine archive too ... another excellent source. Do you subscribe to ancestry.com, I see you used the 1910 census as a ref, I think I will download the image and add it to the article hidden in the reference. --Richard Arthur Norton (1958- ) (talk) 22:53, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Aestheticism & Oscar Wilde
editHi Mchuston,
I noticed your removal of the wikilink to aestheticism in the lead of the Oscar Wilde article. Your edit summary sais:
- removed the link to aestheticism as a topic, as the link infers a definition for the word. They are not necessarily synonymous
But the article linked to discusses aestheticism as a philosophy advocating the beautiful, one which Wilde was a part of for a large part of his career. Do you mean that the word "aesthete" has other meanings? The link is supposed to infer define the word. You might also be interested in WP:Link Best, --Ktlynch (talk) 10:56, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
