edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. GorillaWarfare (talk) 02:57, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Requested username:

Request reason:

I was hoping to create a brand knowledge Panel for Festivale as I am in charge of Google Marketing. I was unaware of the problems with representing a company, If I change my username from Festivale Tasmania to just Festivale will this help? Festivale Tasmania (talk) 03:50, 21 November 2018 (UTC)

Decline reason:

No. Usernames cannot be that of an event or organization. Please select a name that indicates an individual is using this account; it need not be your real name, it can be an alias. You will also need to read WP:COI and WP:PAID before you edit further(though this is not part of your block). 331dot (talk) 09:30, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

You may simply edit your existing request to change your username choice; you don't need to create a new request. 331dot (talk) 09:31, 21 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

OK thanksyou for the information, with that being said if I change my username to one that is personalised to me will I be able to get a Festivale page created?Festivale Tasmania (talk) 23:50, 26 November 2018 (UTC)

Accept reason:

I've changed your username, and since that was the only reason for the block, I will lift it; however, before you edit you need to read and comply with WP:COI and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 01:24, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

If you read WP:COI, you will see that it urges you to not edit in the area of your COI directly; instead using edit requests on existing articles and Articles for Creation to submit drafts for new ones. Please understand, though, that you can't just tell about the festival. Wikipedia is only interested in what independent reliable sources with significant coverage state about it. That does not include press releases, basic announcements, or any other primary source. Wikipedia has no interest in what the festival(through its representatives) wants to say about itself. 331dot (talk) 01:27, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
