Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Drmies (talk) 23:19, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

I did not add advertising pages. I saw someone posted that WEBRA was not in business and I saw that there were links to company websites in the makers section so I added some links to the manufacturers webpages, then a warning came up that advertising or promotion was not allowed in the makers area so I removed them. I didn't realize that was not allowed and I believe I removed them. I didn't proceed and corrected it. I thought that links to makers websites were suppose to go there. It was confusing when the warning came up on how to cancel the edit. I used the back arrow and removed the edits I made.

Decline reason:

I'm declining your unblock request because of this edit that you made. You cite the company's website, which matches your username. I'm not convinced that your intent is more than just to represent the company, plus I have concerns regarding undisclosed paid editing... ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 00:15, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I believe you are referring to something from 2018 which I don't even recall putting a link there and I know no warning was given at that time. It was not intended as a promotion. As for my user name MECOA, I am the owner of MECOA and have been in the model engine business for 45 years. I only try to correct incorrect information and add useful information. I do not receive payment for this, I am only trying to provide correct information. I do not make a lot of edits and would not knowingly do anything that is against your policies. Now that I know and have had this experience I will be sure not to place any links in the wrong place. Please reconsider and unblock me. I guess my username is an issue too and may need to be changed? I don't want this name which is a registered trademark to be used by anyone else.Mecoa (talk) 00:44, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Please propose a new username as instructed. There are other potential meanings for the string "Mecoa" so we cannot guarantee that no one else will use it. If you own MECOA I assume you own it to earn a living(as you sell things on your website), that is considered paid editing. Please also see conflict of interest. You don't really say what edits you intend to make if unblocked. 331dot (talk) 08:03, 9 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
