Why there's no GNU/Linux on Wikipedia
editHi,
Just FYI, the reason that Wikipedia currently says "Linux" everywhere instead of "GNU/Linux" is that one editor spent the Summer of 2009 doing hundreds of search-and-replaces to remove all the "GNU/".
So it's not a consensus. It's just one person who found that he could impose his view via edit floods. Gronky (talk) 11:02, 2 January 2013 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!

I will be pleased to help solve the GNU/Linux controversy along those users hindering the development of such an important article, your poll is going to help a lot, 'cause discussion is just getting larger and larger and none seems to come up with a solution. We may need to ask for formal mediation though. Isacdaavid (talk) 04:23, 3 January 2013 (UTC) |
