Hello Medicalmom and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to Feeding tube, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Drmies (talk) 01:40, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

I've been offline for awhile. I used to edit this page for years and wrote most of the sections on feeding tube types and much of the other information. I have had to edit this page multiple times to remove the misinformation repeatedly posted by this same group of so-called "scientists." My edits are not troubling. What is troubling is a for-profit company editing the page to emphasize information that is slanted by using only their own studies. Please investigate this with an openmind. I have worked for years for a non-profit that supports tube feeding. I know what I am talking about on this topic. Medicalmom (talk) 01:51, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • What I am not sure about is whether you know Wikipedia policy. Jytdog, an experienced editor, is going over the article right now. Next time, it would be very helpful if a. you didn't make such huge edits in one go and b. if you explained more carefully what you are doing. Drmies (talk) 02:00, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

OK, fair point. I was just disgusted to come back to this page today to find that this company has added their stuff again to the page. Medicalmom (talk) 02:03, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

Just wanted to pop in. I caught the disgust in the edit note :) I feel myself that way a lot of times but do my best to restrain it.
Most of this page is very badly sourced - WP:MEDRS has been completely ignored. One of the great things about following MEDRS is that it helps us keep almost all garbage out of our health content - commercial shilling by companies of all kinds (pharma, device, alt med, whatever) as well as fringey popular notions about health. Lots of more work to do on this page (and Tube dependency is really bad as well...). So much work to do! Jytdog (talk) 02:14, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Sure thing, Medicalmom. I'm sorry you and I got off to a rough start, and I appreciate your expertise and ongoing interest in improving this and other articles--as I appreciate Jytdog's expertise. Drmies (talk) 16:18, 30 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
Looks like things are under control. Am currently travelling. Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 07:43, 31 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
