The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Wow! It looks like you've taken off running with contributing to Wikipedia, especially in the Sonic the Hedgehog area. I wish to enthusiastically thank you for your awesome contributions to Wikipedia so far, and I am excited for what new edits you'll contribute in the future. See you around, Mz7 (talk) 17:35, 5 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi, and thanks very much for your fine edits. I've removed some of your proposed deletions of Sonic the Hedgehog related redirects, primarily because Wikipedia's copyright licensing scheme requires that editors receive attribution for their contributions to the encyclopedia. This is done by means of the edit history pages attached to each article. When content is merged into an article of larger scope, as was apparently done with many of these Sonic the Hedgehog pages, a redirect is left over with the edit history still attached. Deleting the redirect means the edit history is no longer visible, and this can potentially result in a violation of the copyright rules.

I can certainly appreciate why you find some of the page names left over after redirects to be unlikely search terms, but because of the edit histories, it's often better to leave them be; it's commonly said that "redirects are cheap". More details about this contorted issue can be found at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia, Wikipedia:Merging, and Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion#Reasons for not deleting.

You may want to check the history pages of the remaining redirect pages that you've prodded--I probably didn't see them all. On the other hand, if you still think a redirect page ought to be deleted, you can take it to Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion for further review. (As Calathan has correctly pointed out, prods aren't supposed to be used for redirects in any event.) Thanks again for your great work! --Arxiloxos (talk) 14:27, 25 April 2014 (UTC) Added clarification --Arxiloxos (talk) 23:14, 25 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Oh okay, thankyou I didn't know. Actually I'm not quite sure if this is how I'm supposed to reply to this, possibly you'll never see it. MegaMuffinMan (talk) 05:36, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

No problem. I saw your response because your talk page is now on my watchlist. See Template:Talkback for another method that many editors use for responding to messages on their user talk page. Again, thanks for your great work so far. Best, --Arxiloxos (talk) 06:02, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image File:Sonic The Hedgehog Issue 257 cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Sonic The Hedgehog Issue 257 cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 22:01, 31 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the notification. The article in question which the image belonged to was recently deleted due to the WP:TNT protocol, as it was deemed so flawed it would be easier to start again than repair it.
Considering it is unlikely there will be any notability issues with creating the page again, and the image will still likely be useful on any recreated page, I intend to recreate the page and attach it in the future (or attach it to the page if someone else creates it before me).
Unfortunately, I am still in the process of creating/fixing the page to a reasonable standard, and it is a large task, may I ask if there is any recourse I could pursue to extend this duration of stay? If I even had just another week this could save having to repost the image again. MegaMuffinMan (talk) 09:09, 1 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Regarding your comment on the StH talk page...

edit

You expressed some concern of how the series and reissues was bloated/messy. I'm not sure if you meant the section itself or if the problem was it making the overall Sonic the Hedgehog (comics) article messy, but I did create a new page solely for the series and reissues section (List of Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog publications). Let me know what you think. Antiyonder (talk) 20:32, 19 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
