Hi. I was banned many years ago for edit warring repeatedly on a specific article. I am asking for an unblock because it has been 9 years now and since then I have learned the proper rules on edit warring and adding reliable sources. I would like to rejoin Wikipedia and be a useful contributor. I completely understand why I was blocked and I think it was definitely warranted. voorts Well, I didn't consider it whitewashing because Evola by definition is not a fascist in his philosophy. I was only giving a more accurate designation. Now if most sources claim he's a fascist, then by Wikipedia standards that's the proper designation. I've learned more about why I was banned and I realize policies like majority reliable sources' perspectives are what matters for editing, not what I think, regardless of it's true or not.

So, in that regard, I apologize for my edit warring. I'm not gonna edit war again on things I disagree with and I will go to talk page from now on. MenofTomorrow ^talk 23:01, 11 June 2026 (UTC)

@Voorts I would want to edit the topics I've edited before, most of which encompass right-wing politics, and some history. Why would a topic ban be necessary? It's been 9 years and back then I was a new user unaware of policy, I didn't even know how to use a talk page or what the purpose of that was. I spent time studying the proper policies and procedures. I can guarantee you I won't edit war ever again. Are the punitive measures really necessary if I'm willing to stop bad behavior? They are not punitive, they're preventative. While we assume you mean well with your promise to do better, we have to trust but verify; given your history, allowing you to only edit on other topics for a time, to establish a good reputation that can then (after six months or so, usually) be used to appeal the topic ban, is standard practice in such cases. - The Bushranger _{One ping only} 02:19, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

@The Bushranger But I don't have anything else to edit aside from this topic. Meaning I don't have interest in other topics. Are you suggesting, therefore, that I'm tasked with editing other topics I'm uninterested in to establish a reputation? Is it possible to just get the topic ban and wait six months without making too many edits and then have it lifted? No; that would be taken poorly when appealing it (and almost certainly result in the appeal being unsuccessful) as it would evade the point of the topic ban being present. It might be possible to be unblocked without a topic ban, but that would be up to Voorts or other admins. - The Bushranger _{One ping only} 02:32, 12 June 2026 (UTC)

Have you read a work of fiction or watched a TV show recently? There are articles that need plot summaries. Or, you can help to add citations to articles lacking sources. You could also engage in recent changes patrol and help prevent disruption. There are tons of things to do on Wikipedia other than engage with articles on controversial political subjects that are often within multiple subject areas that have been deemed contentious topics by the community or the Arbitration Committee. voorts (talk/contributions) 03:44, 12 June 2026 (UTC)
