MaxiVista speedy delete

A tag has been placed on MaxiVista, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of either already posted material, or of material that was previously deleted under Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. Merithb, you seem to be reposting the MaxiVista article out of frustration that we are declining to speedy delete the article on Multiplicity. That doesn't really help your case. The reasons we aren't willing to speedy delete Multiplicity (software) is because it is not the kind of blatant advertising that WP:CSD#G11 is meant to exclude. If you want it deleted, your best bet is to nominate it for deletion as described at WP:AFD#How_to_list_pages_for_deletion. Dear Kchase02. Yes, I would appreciate your help. I created the MaxiVista article based on the Multiplicity article and both articles were actually similar in the way of description. Now, the MaxiVista article has been deleted because somebody sees it as spam while the similar article Multiplicty is still listed. I do not understand why the one is kept and the other one is deleted. I would appreciated to have this explained. Merithb 18:35, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

OK. Why don't you try giving it a shot yourself, first? If you have trouble or just don't feel comfortable listing it for deletion, let me know and I'll help. Content is commonly deleted because it's not notable, so a perusal of WP:CORP or WP:SOFTWARE to see if it meets either one of those might help you in writing a good deletion nomination.

The reason the MaxiVista article was speedy deleted is that it was already subject to a discussion, so we can speedy delete it per WP:CSD#G4. That discussion is at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MaxiVista. I don't think you were aware of the discussion when you posted the article, so this really isn't your fault. We have lots of guidelines for the inclusion and exclusion of articles, but wikipedia has so many that it is often difficult to apply them consistently to every article in an open project like this. Applying them to any article often entails a complete discussion at AfD. See WP:INN for more info.--Kchase T 18:54, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Indeed, I was not aware that there was a foregoing discussion as I started the MaxiVista article from scratch. Thus, my article substantionally differs from the deleted MaxiVista article. So why is it deleted if it does not violate WP:COI, or WP:CORP as arguments taken for the prior initial deletion discussion. My article was rather similar to the Multiplicity article which for strange reasons is strongly defended? I would appreciate if you could help me to get back my article as well. It is quite frustrating to see how rude articles are deleted here and how different decisions are being made on similar occasions. Merithb 20:36, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Oh, just search Google for "MaxiVista" and you will find many articles and reviews from independent and respected media (such as PC Magazine, CPU Magazine, Laptop Magazine, G4Media (TechTV)). Given that, the WP:CORP criteria "The product or service has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the company itself." is clearly fulfilled. I hesitate to tell another person to take me to DRV today, but I think you may have enough for a case. The reason I hesitate to reverse myself is because there were other issues in the deletion discussion besides notability. Here's what I recommend. Take a hard look at the AfD and Wikipedia:Undeletion policy, and decide what you want to do. If you want to take it to DRV, just leave your rationale here and I'll post it at DRV with proper formatting and such. Just leave a note here, either way.--Kchase T 21:53, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
