supergirl picture

edit

where's that picture from? Exvicious 02:55, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, I'd like to know, too. Also, if there's any indication on which Supergirl corresponds to which (although I suspect most of them are the original Kara Zor-El), I'd like to see that added to the image page, too. Oh, and thanks for the picture! --Joe Sewell 16:36, 10 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

It's an Ed Benes original from ComicartArt [[1]]

Hi,

When you move a page, you should also correct all the links to it, like in this case. Joeyconnick 19:45, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Three-Revert Rule

edit

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert an article to a previous version more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. Stifle (talk) 22:50, 18 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Jean Grey

edit

i guess you're mad no one's agreeing with you about the jean grey thing, but it doesn't mean you should just add all your edits back, because they will just get changed back without proper concensus. instead of just adding all your edits back, you should probably focus on making everyone agree with you or they will just put it back. (especially DrBat, but i think he's just mad you changed his photo.) don't argue in page history, do it in discussion. Exvicious 17:47, 19 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

See? Look now. It happened exactly as i said it would. With *3* people. 2 changed your unapproved of by concensus wording and DrBat put his picture back, which is a better representation of Jean's history. (i'm pretty sure he would've put it back whether it was or not, though.) Exvicious 00:41, 20 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
And the fact that you continue to insult me in all your edits doesn't help. --DrBat 01:13, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

But it makes me feel better. A-Hole. MetaStar 01:15, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fine, but you're the one making things more difficult, and more personal. It also makes you appear really immature. --DrBat 01:19, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Like I care, you are the one trying to keep your fav pics up, and reverting everyone elses edits, no matter how valid their reasoning solely on your preference of artists. MetaStar 01:21, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Umm... no. First of all, regarding your 3RR bit you sent me; If I've violated, so have you.
Second; let's see what arguments I've had with you.
  • Jean Grey; you add an alternate-reality image which she has never shown in the comics.
  • You add an image of Huntress with her wearing an outfit she no longer wears.
  • Despite this, you add the new WW image and argue for it by saying it's her modern look, despite her costume being no different than the previous image AND you adding images to other articles which do NOT represent the character's modern looks. How is this valid reasoning? --DrBat 01:27, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

If it was just my edits, I would be fine, but you've reverted the edits of anyone who changed your pics (Lesfer and ExcaliDragon, to name a few). The pic I put up in Jean's was a suggestion of another Wikipedian who was trying to put an end to this bullshit. But you can't let go, and I can't sit by and watch you be a pic-Nazi to other Wikipedians. You don't own these pages, read the talk sections. Lesfer wanted the Dodson pic for WW, ExcaliDragon wanted the pic for Rachel Summers, and Coronis wanted the pic for Jean. But you hate me so much you'll be a dick to anyone who might suggest a different path before. Have I changed Huntress comics since the "vote", no. Because more than ONE person wanted to change the pic. Ditto for Wonder Woman. I can't help but feel pity for you, if your life is so devoid of meaning that the only joy you get is by sqaushing the edits of others, only due to your personal bias. You are the reason that my friends don't want to join Wikipedia. They feel that their edits won't matter, since one or two wiki Nazis will just erase their work. And I don't blame them. I'd leave Wikipedia, but I don't want you to think that youve "won". I'm sticking with this, and if this means that you-and-I will be locked in an eternal edit war, then so be it. MetaStar 01:37, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Again, you are assuming far too much and making it far too personal. Furthermore, the fact that you are getting all pent up over it, and continue on insulting me, suggest you are far more emotionally involved in this than I am, along with the fact that you just stated you're only staying here to spite me. FYI, I felt no negativity until you started calling me DrBrat, a moron, an a-hole, and a dick (and you'll notice, despite your barrage of insults I have yet to do so in return) because I didn't like your images. YOU'RE the one who made it personal, not me. Don't try playing the 'martyr' card. --DrBat 01:53, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Oh, I had other words for you, but they were "less than appropriate", I'm actually proud of my restraint. You still never explained why you changed ExcaliDragon's or Lesfer's pics. Your only answer was that "Davis was a better artist" for Rachel, and "Bolland was a better artist" for Wonder Woman. The pic I changed in Rachel Summers was becuase the pic in the SHB was tiny, and you couldn't see all of Rachel's costume. I thought a bigger picture of Rachel was better suited for the SHB. I put the previous pic prominently in the character history, becuase I actually like Alan Davis, I could have removed it, but I thought it did show her history. The SHB (from what I read in the talk pages) is supposed to have "a clear, dynamic picture of (-insert hero-) in current form". The Bachalo or the Tan image was better suited to the ideals set by consensus on the Super Hero Box. As for the X-men the End Jean pic, it was the most current pic of Jean I could think of (since it is the pic for June on my "Official X-Men Calander"), and she wore that suit in the comics (just Land didn't draw it for the interior comic art, that was left to a different artist), since all of the costumes in the old Jean pic were her old ones. The only reason I changed much reviled pic of Huntress was becuase of the crosshairs and night-vision green that covered almost the enire image. The Benes image was close enough to the previous (minus two inches of black leather), that I didn't think I was a big deal. Obviously, you did. From previous talk pages, I found that I'm not the only one who has had this problem with you. The first DrBrat was a simple typo, but then you decided to certainly earn that title. I never claimed to be a martyr, but I really do not like seeing people twist the rules that they previously threw in other peoples faces. When you tell someone that it is wrong to have a picture in the SHB where their faces and bodies are obscured, then fight over a picture that has the same qualities, then there is a problem. And when you say that a pic shouldn't be used because it exists on another page, yet continue using a pic used in another page (See Jean Grey and the Omega-Level Mutant articles), there is a bigger problem. I'm not sure why you don't see this (you seem so good at pointing out the "errors" of others). And finally, I'm not staying here to spite you, I just said I wasn't leaving DUE to you. And considering the amazing speed at which you've flooded my talk page. I would say that you have taken this more personally than I did. MetaStar 03:14, 21 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:EXVenom.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:EXVenom.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:30, 2 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Proposed deletion of File:Nightwing Kandor.jpg

edit

The file File:Nightwing Kandor.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NFCC 8 - This variant of the character is discussed in 29 words out of the entire article, non of which describes the appearance. This image is not critical to the understanding of the subject of the article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
