Request reason:

Hi. I apologize that this took some time to respond to this block. I believe that there is some misunderstanding. I helped my wife Ariana Rockefeller in the creation of her Wikipedia page, because she is from a well known family, the great great grand daughter of John D. Rockefeller. Ariana is in the media frequently, and talked about regularly online, and sometimes facts about her are misrepresented about her. The intention of creating the Wikipedia page was to help provide all of the true facts about her life. It is not the intention to advertise or promote Ariana in anyway, just put out the definitive facts about her, as is the purpose of Wikipedia. I hope that the editors can understand this and will remove the block. Please let me know if further clarification is required. Thank you. Mhbucklin (talk) 20:21, 4 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

Please review the conflict of interest policy which will explain why it is problematic for you to directly edit about your wife. You are actually incorrect about the purpose of Wikipedia; the purpose of Wikipedia is to collect human knowledge about subjects that meet Wikipedia's special definition of notability as described in independent reliable sources. If you just want to tell the world what you consider "true facts" about someone, you should use social media or a personal website. If there is incorrect information on Wikipedia about your wife, we want to know what it is, but according to Wikipedia guidelines and practices, such as through using edit requests. You won't be unblocked to just edit about your wife; if you want to be a general Wikipedia contributor, please tell what other subjects you want to edit about. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 21:07, 4 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

When I created the page I did disclose that it was of someone I was related to, as I knew I needed to. It is clearly an very notable person, with many references in highly reputable media sources, and the article is written very objectively. All of that would seem difficult to argue with. I hope you will reconsider. Mhbucklin (talk) 19:57, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

Decline reason:

You were blocked for advertising. Whether or not you disclosed that you were violating our policies isn't relevant to the fact that you were violating our policies. The disclosure exists to make it easier to identify when people are violating them. I am declining this unblock request because you are not addressing the reason for your block at all, but are instead trying to distract from the core issue that you are using Wikipedia as a means to promote a person, which is not allowed even if you tell us you are doing that. I have gone through all your edits since December 2018 to find that supposed disclosure, to no avail. Could you please point out where, exactly, you made that disclosure? Huon (talk) 21:33, 5 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

(talk) Thanks for consideration. I believe the article was written very objectively, never intended to be promotional. Some information needs to be clarified. I don't know why, but someone keeps changing the birthday to the 28th. It would be nice if you would please consider unblocking me. I understand the purpose and policies of Wikipedia and never tried to violate them. Thanks.

Initially I submitted the page for review and I believe I made the disclosure then. The response I got from the reviewer did not indicate that that was the issue. Thanks for looking. Mhbucklin (talk) 15:04, 6 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
