Hi there! I was just browsing the list of school and university projects on Wikipedia and happened across your article on piracy in the Atlantic. It looks really neat so far, great work!

I just wanted to give you a few tips regarding references. The long reference list shows that you clearly have experience with citing and referencing, which is awesome, but Wikipedia does things a little differently than the standard for academia. There's a ton of information at Wikipedia referencing but there are two main things I wanted to point out:

• When an identical reference is used multiple times, rather than typing or copying/pasting them again each time you use them, you can use named references, explained here
• For references to the same work (book, etc.) but with different page numbers, the most common solution is shortened footnotes, explained here. You would create a separate list of full citations to a work, then the in-text citation is shortened and contains the page number. (This also makes ibid unnecessary, which is a good thing because if someone were to insert a new citation between an existing citation and an ibid, that ibid would no longer make sense.)

(In addition, though they certainly aren't necessary I have often found that citation templates can make the referencing process quite a bit easier.)

The Wikipedia help pages can sometimes be overwhelming—if you want to see how this looks in a real article, the reference section in today's featured article McDonnell XF-85 Goblin is a great example.

Hi Michelle! I hope all is well. I wanted to stop by to share a new project with you that I am developing, called the WikiWomen's Collaborative. I would love your input about the project.

Disco thing

I don't like disco and I am no racist or sexist or homophobic. Most people who disliked disco in the 1970s didn't dislike it because of racist, sexist, homophobic reasons ,THEY JUST DIDN'T LIKE THE SOUND OF IT. Its possible that people dislike Disco for same reasons people dislike rock, new wave, alternative rock etc. Many people disliked disco simply for being too popular, for the sound, for the fact it was too mass produced. Sure a small mionority hated it for bigoted reasons but most people who disliked disco disliked it for non bigoted reasons.

If most scholars actually say that people who disliked disco disliked it for racist, sexist, or homophobic reasons then those scholars are wrong and no PH.D can change that fact. Ga58656Gty (talk) 20:16, 10 November 2020 (UTC)
