Re: Teahouse post on Your Story Hour
editHello Michron777, I saw your Teahouse post, then looked at the Your Story Hour draft and I (a non-reviewer) believe that the radio series is notable enough for a Wikipedia article. I have never had a draft article rejected, so I'm not an expert on asking for a second reviewer to look at what I've written, but I urge you to do so.
As already stated, I'm no expert on this, but I went to the pink "Submission rejected" box on top of your draft, and then clicked on the little blue "Ask for advice" box (inside the pink box) to see how things are set up. After studying what is written it appears that you need to go down to what I call the White Writing Box, and find the sentence that begins "Below this line." Begin writing below that line and politely request that your article be reviewed a second time. State that you have recently added 9 newspaper article references which you feel help to establish that the radio series, which has been continuously broadcast for 70+ years, and is now heard on 4,000 radio stations, is notable. You may wish to add that if the draft article subject is still considered to be not notable you would appreciate advice on whether you can do more to show its notability. Review your post to make sure there are no errors in what you've just written, then scroll down to the very bottom and click on the blue "Publish changes" box.
I hope that you are able to have your well-written article published. Best wishes to you. Karenthewriter (talk) 00:06, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you very much for your response. It is very encouraging. I thought I requested it again. But I will word it the way you suggested. Thank you very much Michron777 (talk) 00:17, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- Machron777, you may have requested it again, but I couldn't see it when I looked. Perhaps an earlier request isn't seen when another person looks at the page. Karenthewriter (talk) 02:13, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- Michron777 because I had messaged you earlier I received notice of the unfortunate decision by a reviewer. I am sorry for the outcome, which seems to be final. Perhaps, sometime in the future, you will be able to find another venue -- such as a specialized website or a blog site -- to preserve the history of Your Story Hour, but for now it will likely be best to set aside the project and work on other interests until the sting of the rejection is not so fresh. Best wishes to you. Karenthewriter (talk) 21:01, 24 May 2022 (UTC)
- @Karenthewriter Thank you. Yeah I was disappointed. Notability and Advertisement seems to be the problem now. But perhaps what you suggest is what has to be done for now. I will leave it alone again and just save the info I've worked on. Thank you very much for your assistance. I really appreciate it. Michron777 (talk) 15:41, 25 May 2022 (UTC)

AfC notification: Draft:Your Story Hour has a new comment
editHelp with Your Story Hour
editHi Michron777, I'm 78.26, and I have some experience here. I am quite familiar with "Your Story Hour" (grew up listening to it on the radio and on records). It's undoubtable notable, but honestly most of the prose needs to be re-written. The "adversiting/promotional" problems come from statements like "of Christian denominations in many countries, have benefited from these". Why is it an encyclopedia's place to say people have benefited from the program? How do you define "benefited" and maintain a WP:NPOV, one of our core policies? Anyway, I'm willing to help you with it, if you want. Try to gather as much information as you can from reliable, WP:INDEPENDENT sources. You must present the topic from an objective, dispassionate perspective, the way someone with no connection to the program, or even Christianity, might present it. As a first suggestion, perhaps some information can be found at the Adventist Archives. (https://www.adventistarchives.org/) You'll need to be careful about what information you use, but factual information could probably be found there, beware opinions. I hope that is of some help. 03:33, 28 February 2024 (UTC) 78.26 (spin me / revolutions) 03:33, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you for that. That is helpful. But I do hope that would be the only thing. I try to not make it sound promotional or proselytizing. Some pages have only one source reference and they are published. And others have the same word choices I used and they are published. So it's quite confusing because both are stated reasons why it keeps being denied Michron777 (talk) 17:49, 29 March 2024 (UTC)
