Your tag removal rationale

You wrote, It's a great product that needs a page just like Adobe products, in order to justify keeping an article. The problem is that you cannot use Wikipedia as a vehicle to get people to know about this software product. You have to get them to know it, and once you have succeeded you can initiate a Wikipedia article on it. See Wikipedia's policy on notability. Has there been a review of this software from a reliable source unrelated to its developpers? If not, Wikipedia just cannot have an article on it, regardless of how great this product is.

Did not realize I removed such a tag. If the record shows it was my login that did it, then prob it was me. But it's not my style to argue my points by removing an editor's tag, for sure, so if me, it was certainly unintentional, and thanks for not jumping on me about it. I appreciate that. I will continue to review the Help for what is appropriate content, citations and so forth, and am doing so today making copious notes and bookmarks even though I really want to get the page going. The page I am preparing now, five years later. Thank you.

Hi. No. I use CuteFTP and Tappin, two of their products. I never worked for them and don't plan on it. Far as I recall, nobody who works for a company is able to do that company's wiki, correct? I'm learning good editing skills and think Wikipedia does a lot for people, knowing how it works out for me, so I'm contributing somewhere I know about. Now my dad, Jack Newman, was a country music writer, singer-songwriter as they call them these days, and I'd like to write a wiki on him here some day, so this helps me with that. He toured with Elvis, wrote for the big name country singers Hank Snow and Jim Reeves. I get concerned at times I won't be permitted to write about him because I'm family and not objective in some peoples' minds, but in most people's minds, I'm THE expert on Jack Newman, so it's a bit of a conundrum for me. If it's true I can't write about him, and I'm THE expert, something would seem wrong with that. Tell me I'm wrong, please. Thanks!

And yes, I also know Wikipedia is a stickler for following its rules, so if I missed a citation, it's coming. If I wrote too close to a rule, I reread those regularly now, and anything like that would be edited away from gray areas. I'm really conscientious and trying to be a good Wikipedian editor. Thanks for all your help.

PS: Why do you ask? Did I do something wrong that made you think to ask? Thanks. I mean, there had to be a reason you asked, and I'd like to know so I don't raise a bunch of red flags every time I get to posting to the page. I don't take to wasting my time or anybody else's, so if you need to advise me, please do so. Again, thanks for your help.

I once tried to create a Tappin page because it is such a cool software, but the monitor didn't feel it was such a big deal or something. I forget right now. I figure, just do the Globalscape page, fix that up, make it knowledgeable and more complete, check for old or outdated citations, update and upgrade it, make it relevant to the present. I mean, some things you can't go wrong, like I did the key people page because hey, you put their names and positions, and nobody can yell at you. Lol. Hey stop that. I think it's important to know who their partners are and am going to look into that, listing all of them, because they are a small company by most measures, and considered a tiny company, a "microcap" company, and so are pretty much unknown, therefore, when I look to learn about a company like that, it helps me tremendously to find that they have real partners who themselves are very credible, so I can contact those ones, or visit their websites, and then with good companies I'm able to not waste time wondering. I use Wikipedia for learning about companies more than the Better Business Bureau. For sure. I ask mainly because almost all your edits are related to one single company and your they look like something coming from a marketing department, with overuse of adjectives, buzzwords, trademark symbols and other fancy language. [Hmm. Now maybe you didn't realize that Globalscape supports the US Army which uses their secure file transfer software for logistics support? So I'm going to say it's absolutely imperative that it be secure and reliable. When they say or I say it's mission-critical, that's an ARMY term, not just business term, dealing with keeping the troops safe and secure, to my way of thinking. I'm not a marketer, nor am I paid by a marketing firm or anybody to write this stuff. I'm trying to make a honest assessment of what it is they have, are and do. If I don't have to use trademark and copyright symbols on Wikipedia, I didn't know that and will immediate remove all such identifiers from anywhere I see them, but I understood it wrong that when something is trademarked or copyrighted, that one should conscientiously use the (TM) and (C) to portray those things correctly.] [Now the next thing what you call BullSxxx is what took me a good hour to figure out how to whittle down everything I knew into something narrow but that covered what they do. It definitely has to be reliable and that is a big part of file sharing software, emails, dropbox type services is that mostly they are NOT reliable as far as being secure. Think Snowden and secure FTP. If someone asks me how I would secure their most private information in transfers, I would tell them my own brother-in-law used CuteFTP on the battlefield, and the company that makes that makes a lot more secure softwares than that for enterprises and small to medium sized businesses. SMBs to Enterprises. With the data breaches that occur like Target and Home Depot, both which messed up my bank card accounts, I think I can say that it's important to the max that our sensitive data and IP propertybe secured, and I thought since their software does that no matter the size, I would say it does it in multiple scenarios and across multiple platforms, because it does indeed do that. If you are waiting for my references, okay. But if you are not aware of this being the truth, and able to be confirmed, that's another thing. Like the rules say, everybody learns and makes mistakes and nobody's going to come down on you for trying in good faith. I haven't posted a word of bull in my post. It's frustrating to me to have you use that term with me. BS. If this company's software isn't secure, isn't reliable, isn't able to secure or help secure facets of business it says it can do, they wouldn't be in business. They made $25 million last year, so somebody besides the ARMY buys their software because it works, and to them, a key phrase is "secure information exchange" being what they provide. It sounds like you think they are fly by night. Is that correct?] And that I'm a paid marketer? I'm crippled ex-Marine and live with my 92 year old mom. I'm 60. Neither of us have jobs. I'm gonna do like I did last time and not come back for a year. Every time I try to do something here, I get jumped on, it seems. Now I got you calling my work BS at the emergency level when all I did was honestly describe what the company's software does. Please explain to me what part you think is BS and if it is, I'm sure we can get a file transfer pro from CIO magazine or other rag to agree one way or the other. So please identify the BS. Because none of that which you quote in this following line is a lie at all. but I think we need to get on the same page and there's a lot there you are calling BS, and I can't ask for 3rd party help with you to explain to you that this is really the truth, and verifiable. Who has time for that? All the managed file transfer and enterprise mobility management companies are about trying help individuals and businesses secure their files in transit and at rest, internally and externally to mobile workforces and partners and clients. I'm trying to be thorough. I've got a dozen degrees. I got none of them by BS. Psychology, Spanish, French. Takes hard work. Marines takes hard work. Honest hard work. Please don't belittle me. I may be long-winded, but which facet did I leave in and which did I leave out, was the question. I carefully said yes to each word: reliable, mission-critical, securing not just any data but sensitive data like credit card data for banks or soldier positions and parts needed in Iraq is pretty darn sensitive, not BS, and IP property is so sensitive just ask when they leak the next movie online or somebody's new songs are stolen or there's a breach of all the movie star information, which is what Globalscape and its peers is about stopping. Snowden mentioned the use of secure FTP as being very smart, and Globalscape's CuteFTP and other products use secure FTP for years now and know all about that, and use even stronger than that. Maybe you weren't aware. I thought it important to make sure that any individuals who happened upon the page knew that these products include some things for them, that's it's not just for big enterprises or SMBs or SMEs, and vice versa. Not all companies' products are able to scale up for use at the government level either, so after verifying this was the case for their products, I mentioned that, because as Marine and ARMY related, maybe some other departments of the government ought to be using such software to safeguard their assets. And finally, I thought it would help for those who are viewing Wikipedia like I do, to learn if a company can help them, that if it was a business or government entity person looking for a needed solution, that it would speed things up for them if they actually knew that other people in their industry were using the product(s), and so I said, Well, then, I need to list the companies they and their resellers always seem to target. I've done a lot of reading not just of Globalscape's pages but of their resellers and search engine results and am convinced I haven't included any industries that their products aren't used in. You make me want to quit.

Let me ask you, what do YOU know about MFT or EMM or IAM or the computer file transfer industry or securing computer information from breaches, hackers, insiders, mobile device threats? I don't think a real pro who knows this stuff is going to call that long sentence of mine BS. I think the likelihood is you don't really know the topic. You are prob real good at Wikipedia rules, but not at computer security issues. I tell you what, if it was BS, the Army and my bro-in-law wouldn't use their stuff. for pete sake, this is tiring me out to deal with you. Please be a little more encouraging and even pass me to someone who's a pro in computer security, if you would. I'd prefer a peer review of my statements by someone who's familiar with computer security computer breaches, hackers, intrusion detection, etc. otherwise, how can someone judge what I say as hype or BS or land sake a marketing professional. Now that's a joke. A marketing department. Lol. I wish I knew something about you to try to place your context and view and understand why you see the truth as BS.] My BS meter goes on emergency alert when I read something like "dealing with the reliability of mission-critical operations by securing sensitive data and intellectual property in multiple scenarios and across multiple platforms for individuals, for companies of all sizes from small to medium size businesses to the largest of enterprises, and for governments worldwide in industries such as Healthcare, Entertainment & Media, Financial Services, Energy, Manufacturing, Education, Business Services, Retail, Legal, Government, Travel, and Architecture, Engineering, & Construction".

If you want to write a good Wikipedia article, start by looking for independent reliable sources, like magazine and news articles, and then neutrally describe facts therein, rather than relying on things from the company's website or things that you "know" or reasons why you think the company is awesome. That's how you arrive at a verifiable and neutral article. [I spent an hour trying to respond to you just on this response alone. I don't have an hour. I had hoped to start adding the citations, 3rd party. Tonight. Now mama is calling me to go to bed. It's almost midnight. Now I just posted a lot of this today, and already by midnight I'm under fire and called a BS marketer or that I sound like BS and a marketing department. Merry Christmas. Happy New Year. Is there a forum where I can talk to a real expert in computers that can help me with some of this? Because the BS comments goes to truth, but Wikipedia says more than truth, you want confirmable information that's reliable, not just true, and that sometimes under certain circumstances you can even say what is not necessarily true, but is someone's belief. I hope you were able to see my user page and that I was making notes all day and in there is listed the quotes on making good citations. My citations will have to wait till tomorrow. And then that's beside the bigger point that the Wikipedia Help page says about truth. It says that it's not just writing what's true, but that it needs to come from independent third party sources that are credible, reliable, and I copied that statement on truth and on what sources you should use into my User Page, so that tonight and subsequent visits, I could refer to those notes and ensure I'm only using the best possible sources, and only sources that fit the rules. Furthermore, if I find that any of the statement you said sounded like BS is indeed BS, I will personally be calling the company and demanding they take it off their website, if they say that on their website anywhere, or if one of their resellers or some article in CIO or USA Today stated it, ensure they remove it. I have too much going for me to need to use BS. I have all of Jack Newman's instruments, music, studio perfect records, sheet music, interviews, you name it, phone book, black book, letters, fan letters, check stubs. I don't need to BS to have a life. I brought that to the table. I'm not some punk kid trying to create a fake life or be plastic and cheap for a thrill. I like to write. I thought I could do some good. And if you'd help me instead of call me a BSer, you'd find I'd do just as good a job, A+, as I received in all my work efforts elsewhere, whether in school, universities, music, art, sports until I was crippled, and so on. I believe that you must face a lot of people in your experience who you constantly have to correct, or run off from Wikipedia because they don't read the rulebook and try to fake it and cheat the system. I'm not one of those. Daddy was on the cover of stars & stripes. I learned very young the value of honest work and integrity. Deal with the punks harshly and call them BSers when you have the facts to do so, but with me, you are barking up the wrong tree. ... I see you made some final comments, so I will assure you that I will do my best to adhere to the rules, the big 3, and conform what I said and say with citations from correct sources to the highest Wikipedia standards. If you have any questions about that, ask me. that would have been nice. It comes to me now the statement you opened with "Do you work for the company?" That tells me you were stereotyping me as someone from the company, hyping the software. But I bet you an honest $100 that you can't find one thing I said that is a lie or hype or BS. I will send it to you by Paypal if you can prove any of the BS claim or suspicion, and do so gladly.

Bottom line, I want to write something that people not only believe, but know that they can believe it, with sources that are indeed the highest credibility standing behind my writing. I can see I should not have posted today until I had the proper citations, but honestly, I didn't realize someone was going to target me, today, before the sun set, and challenge me as a BS artist for the company. I mean, that's attacking the company as well, to suggest they would all of a sudden after 18 years in business decide they need to be on Wikipedia and do it in a crooked way. Maybe there ought to be a Wikipedia for businesses and you just have them write about their companies but have people like you trail them around and test them out to verify everything they put there is 3rd party verifiable. I mean, allow them to do their own original write-ups, but only as much as they can back up through independent 3rd party sources. Call it Business Wikipedia or something with nothing on it but what can be verified by credible 3rd parties. This is not though, and I know that. I read and am reading the rulebook over and over to become the best of writers here. As I said I was long-winded, and you can see from this, I was trying to channel this inclination to write into something constructive and useful for others and do so without charge, without remuneration. As a psychologist, I certainly understand the use of credible sources, independent verification of claims. Wikipedia mentions this exact thing in reference to living persons and medical topics, and psychology is as medical as brain surgery. I won't go against my own training to verify. Every study I ever was involved in, double blind placebo studies, having proper controls and getting proper results that can be replicated and verified, that's what it's all about. This is no different. So before I add any more to any of the Globalscape page, I will begin adding citations to today's work I did. That was my plan. Just write it out, use your flow of consciousness like James, that great writer, and then add the citations. And I mean, add the citations, not try to find them, hope to find them. I wrote from my research in a flow. Had I stopped at each phrase to cite it, I would never have gotten so much done. I can see now the hounddogs will chase me if I do that again. So you can be certain and sure that I won't post any more words unless I can post the actual citations with them simultaneously. I will try to remember that not everybody reading or judging my work is an expert as I am in file transfer or the military's use of FIPS and secure FTP systems, and think it sounds fishy. Marketing? No. I write songs, music. But market things? I can write jingles I guess. That's as close as I come to marketing. I cojuld write a jingle to sell something, or some catchphrase. I've been writing songs since I was pre-teen. So I will change my posting method to not post anything I can't cite immediately because the person judging my work on Globalscape doesn't know Globalscape or file transfer or security etc and prob most others won't know it either. I would suggest some system change so that monitors or reviewers are assigned work that fits their qualifications per industry knowledge. But that may not be possible in all cases, but I bet in many it would help someone like me to talk to a peer on Wikipedia who knows what I'm trhing to do, who knows what I'm saying isn't BS, who doesn't need Edward Snowden to tell him about secure FTP to know that CuteFTP is a secure FTP file transfer system, and so forth. That prob sounds like impossible to do, but if eHarmony can do what they do, mathc people up well, why can't Wikipedia do the same with these mini-courts, assessments, reviews or whatever they are called.

Also, maybe someone could suggest where I can enlist the help of others knowledgeable enough to write the Globalscape page here. I read somewhere today I think it said there was a forum to ask for help and mentioned that's a way to bring others into your work, collaborating together I guess it would be, or all doing it separately but together. I'm for that. I'd also like someone to start building a page for my dad, Jack Newman. TNT songwriter, 1950s and 1960s before he left Nashville to quit the music industry after Jim Reeves died. That was a hard day, a hard year. You prob don't know Jim Reeves. O well.
