Verifiability

edit

Believe it or not, there's actually a good reason that WP is not intended to contain information that cannot be found elsewhere. It's called verifiability, and it's one of the core editorial policies. I could come up with a new idea in physics tomorrow that's completely brilliant, and WP would not be a proper place for it until I've published it in peer reviewed journals and whatnot. Even if my science is Nobel-prize quality, WP cannot be the first place to cover it. Friday (talk) 15:30, 22 November 2005 (UTC)Reply
