The photo is not a copyright of ourcampaigns.com, but of the subject's campaign itself. The website, ourcampaigns is using it from the Szwaja presskit just as wikipedia is. It's a promotional photo and it's been linked to in the picture's information. Mikesmash 08:12, 31 August 2007 (UTC)

Primary results updates

You may want to consider waiting until the Washington primary results are certified before updating them. The update you just made is already will shortly be out of date because the SoS website is being updated constantly frequently as tallies from the absentee ballots come in. 100% of precincts only means the numbers from the polling stations are done and does not include absentee. Image removal

Yes, I did remove them. These images exist on Wikipedia under terms of fair use. Our fair use policy at Wikipedia:Fair use criteria item #8 states "The material must contribute significantly to the article (e.g. identify the subject of an article, or specifically illustrate relevant points or sections within the text) and must not serve a purely decorative purpose." The manner in which the logos were being used was purely decorative. With the images removed, the same information was conveyed...which party the various candidates belong to. Thus, the images do not contribute significantly to the article and thus fail the above quoted policy for that use. That fair use logos are used on other political entries in violation of Wikipedia policy does not mean we can violate policy in all articles. Mike, we know that it is nearly impossible to destroy a power ring. But if you say it was destroyed (a fact that I am unaware of), perhaps you could cite a verifiable reference that it was destroyed. This doesn't appear to be a cover, because it's lacking the usual things a cover would have like the name of the publication. More likely it's a promotional pic you found on a website somewhere. If so, you need to change the licensing and indicate which website it came from. It's a great image, and I want to use it as the main pic, but can't without the full and correct info. Grayvage Hulk

The term "Grayvage Hulk" gets a grand total of 6 Google hits. Only 6. And yet you keep reinserting that material. Pushing a term like that is what constitutes original research. Because it is not a common phrase at all, trying to pro mote it is the OR. Doczilla 08:10, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

GRAVAGE, not Grayvage. And it gets 648 hits and is repeated by THE CURRENT Hulk writer with citation. That's two more citations than any other incarnation listed on the entry now.

I get 574 Google hits for it, but either way, you're right. That's more than 6. It's still pretty small compared to the number of hits most things get, though.

You do realize you're not supposed to revert a page more than 3 times within 24 hours, don't you? In the last few hours, you've reverted the Hulk page 5 times to a version you posted a couple of days ago -- when YOU had changed the spelling from Gravage to Grayvage, by the way. (And don't deny that the user at 24.16.211.40 is you. You repeatedly edit the same articles and in the same order in your edit history.) Doczilla 08:16, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

It was me, yes. And it wasn't to evade any rules -- which I was unaware of. This isn't a career to most of us. But the incarnation is prominent and has appeared continually in the series for over two years now. Not to mention its' previous appearances. The Devil Hulk has a section, yet he appeared in a video game and in only a single writer's run on the character. I really do not care what you label the section, but the incarnation deserves to be included on the page and I provided citations for it, including a quote by the series' current writer.

If it wasn't to evade any rules, the obvious question is: Then why did you wait until after your 3rd revision before logging in as Mikesmash? (I don't really care. I'm just pointing out how that looks.) Doczilla 08:25, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Simple answer? Because I was lazy and wasn't logged in automatically. I didn't even KNOW there was such a rule. Fiddling with these entries is a hobby, not the serious pursuit that so many on here treat it like. And I was pissed that when it was first reverted, the patronizing description of "nonsense". Aside from the objections to the name, I haven't yet heard a rational motivation for taking a section about this Hulk incarnation down.

Szwaja Picture

Hey - it looks like the picture you just uploaded will just be automatically deleted again in a few days - I don't know much about how fair use for pictures work, but you might want to talk to someone who does to see what you need to do to get that picture to stay there. Unfortunately, my understanding of fair use guidelines is foggy at best. I would start, however, by editing the page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Szwaja.jpg as detailed in the licensing section (you dispute the tag), and then putting what you said to me in the talk section. You may also want to write to editors such as Quadell, who know much much more about wikipedia's rule for picture use. Also, you should put a "hangon tag" to the Szwaja article if you don't want it to be deleted - without any dispute, an administrator will have no reason not to delete. Good luck! In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Okay I've had a pretty good look at what has been going on. It seems this user [3] is taking issue with some of the things that arent in the article? Saying that some important things are missing. Well i have read the article and sources a bit and the article in no way what so ever fails WP:LIBEL. Everything that is in the article is well sourced and it seems "User:Landsfarthereast" is using the talk pages of article to tell you to do things to the article, dont feel obligied to listen to the guy. Just tell him WP:SOFIXIT, there is nothing stopping the user from editing the page himself. A good thing to remember is not to get stessed, you are a valuable wikipedia, you are getting things done. I left once because it got stressful. Also wikipedia is not cited as being purely factual so if "User:Landsfarthereast" has an issue the tell him/her to read [4] which explains things. Invitation to Meetup/Seattle6, a focus group

Hello. I'm part of a research group at the University of Washington (Seattle campus), and my group is reaching out to Wikipedians in the Puget Sound area. We're hosting a focus group designed to gather information on what Wikipedians would like to know about each other when interacting on Wikipedia. Our end goal is to create an embedded application that helps people quickly know more about others' history and activity on Wikipedia, and we feel our design will be much more useful if it's based on insights of users like you.

I'm hoping that the chance to help out local researchers, to engage in lively face-to-face discussion with other Seattle Wikipedians, and to contribute to Wikipedia in a new way will entice you to join us. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
