editPlease do not add or change content, as you did at Norsemen, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 13:34, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
- Hello. This is the English language Wikipedia, where articles are written from an international perspective, and for international readers, not from a Scandinavian perspective for Scandinavian readers, which means that certain things, such as the definitions of Scandinavia, Vikings and Norsemen, might be slightly different from what you and other Scandinavian readers are used to. So if you want to contribute here, you will have to adjust to the international perspective, or your edits will be reverted, you will also need to brush up your English skills, since your edits here sofar show that neither your spelling nor your grammar is up to par here, or you risk having your edits reverted for that reason alone. You also need to provide reliable sources for all material you add or change, so that your edits are verifiable (see Wikipedia:Citing sources). Thank you. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 13:45, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
Okay thanks for the feedback - i'm on my iPhone so everything Goes a little Quick including autocorrectur. I will NOT do changes in the future from my phone.
Maybe you Can help me out - the historical facts are wrong on the Norsemen also on Ragnar Lodbroks english version there is a lot of changes that needs to be done to at least forfill the actual historical facts.
Regarding the Norsemen and the source of the origin of Denmark, Sweden and Norway these are easy to document via governmental sites: Denmark: http://danmarkshistorien.dk/perioder/ Norway: https://snl.no/Slaget_i_Hafrsfjorden Sweden: https://www.informationsverige.se/Svenska/Samhalle/Samhallsorientering/Sidor/Sveriges-historia---från-istid-till-modern-tid.aspx# and http://popularhistoria.se/artiklar/nar-blev-sverige-ett-rike/
I have no doubt that What i Wrote is historical correct, i Might should look into the grammar as you mentioned. But it should be corrected for the fact is NOT correct as it Was stated before.
Maybe you Can help me?
Thanks

- Hello again. I haven't looked at the changes you want to make on Ragnar Lodbrok, but the changes you want to make on Norsemen are based on a misunderstanding, since the middle ages, by the definition used outside Scandinavia, including in all English-speaking countries, lasted from the 5th to the 15th century (usually starting in 476AD), making what the article says about Sweden, Denmark and Norway being "different sets of people by the Middle Ages" entirely correct. While you base your claim about the article being wrong on the definition of "middle ages" that is most commonly used in Scandinavia, i.e. from ~1000AD to 1500AD, a definition that is not ever used here. So no, the article is not wrong, you are wrong. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 14:43, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
My corrections has nothing to do with the timezone for the middleage. My corrections Was to remove any misunderstandings upon when and Why people used Norsemen instead of the actual region and when they started using dane, swede and norwegian - Its more historical correct. The Way it says now on wikipedia its easy to get the Understanding that in the entire middleage People from Denmark, sweden and norway Was called Norsemen also note that danes swedes and norwegians also were different sets of People even Way before the birth of Christ, so that statement is completely miguiding. Also note Norsemen is the People who used same language this is proven to actually go back to the year 200. The links i provided actually also States that fact beside the language going back to year 200 that link ill just refere here:
http://dialekt.ku.dk/sproghistorie/jernalder/
So Yes even though my intention wasnt about the middleage part, even that is still wrong or at least giving as mentioned wrong understandment compared to the historical facts.
Anyway its NOT that i want to discuss the history i want to change the Way it States now to a more factual and less misguiding Way so everyone Can learn how it Was. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mikkel1984 (talk • contribs)
- The article is about the English language terms "Norse" and "Norsemen", i.e. speakers of "Old Norse", regardless of where they lived, not only Swedes (or rather Svear and Götar), Danes and Norwegians, as you seem to think, but also Old Norse-speakers in Iceland, Greenland, Ireland, Scotland, modern-day Russia and elsewhere. So what you tried to add about when Sweden, Denmark and Norway were "founded" is totally irrelevant in that particular article, because it has nothing whatsoever to do with the English language terms "Norse" and "Norseman". Which brings us back to what I wrote above about an international perspective vs a Scandinavian perspective, because if you can't understand which perspective articles on the English language Wikipedia are written from, you shouldn't edit this version of Wikipedia, but the version in your own language, where you're free to have whatever own perspective you want. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 17:01, 10 July 2017 (UTC)
