I plan to add information to and polish the following sections: introduction and diagnosis. This information will include types of laryngitis, incidence, prevalence, measures/tools used in assessment, and additional information regarding differential diagnosis.

Introduction I like the way you edited the old content, and the information you added had concise, clear wording, which is great! I noticed that there wasn’t a citation in the first paragraph until the 2nd last sentence; did you get all the previous info from that one source? If not, is there a source you can add in? Same comment for the last sentence of the first paragraph; even if you didn’t write it, it would be good to know where that information came from. I also think it’s great to have a prevalence section, and all the information is very interesting. If possible, I might add speculated reasons that laryngitis is more frequent in the populations you described.

Diagnosis I am not an expert on laryngitis but could there be more information to add for chronic laryngitis? It seems like a big issue to summarize in only one sentence.

Assessment Is there a source for the first sentence? Also, the “Openness of the airway examined” section doesn’t really say anything about what this is/the actual examination, and its significance may not be clear to unexperienced readers. Maybe you could add a sentence on what it is? The same idea goes for “Case History”; outlining what it is and why it is gathered. Is there any information on what a laryngitis profile looks like for “4) Assessment of patient’s voice” scales? This might be nice to tie back to the diagnosis aspect.

I think your section looks good, and it presents the information in a concise and informative way. I made a few grammatical edits but here are some specific suggestions for each of your sections:

Introduction

• You seemed to cross out the acute form, and just talked about the chronic form. However, your last sentence, “Antibiotics do not appear to be very useful in the acute form”, refers back to the acute form. Maybe you should consider mentioning the acute form before that sentence, because otherwise it has no point of reference.

Prevalence

• maybe get rid of “versus females”
• I’m not 100% sure, but I think the statistic you gave (6.6 per week from a sample of 100 000 patients of all ages) is incidence not prevalence. Incidence is the number of new cases during some time period, while prevalence is the proportion of disease found to be affecting a particular population. Maybe investigate this further??

Diagnosis

• You talk a bit about acute and chronic laryngitis, but I think you could go into more detail. Like besides when they resolve, what are other differences? Are there differences in symptoms, etiology, etc?

Assessment

• When you write about endoscopic examination, you should link the word “endoscopic” to the endoscopy Wikipedia page. Also maybe you could write one or two sentences explaining endoscopy and what they would be looking for.
• You have a heading called general head and neck examination. Maybe it would be good to say something about this? Like what do they examine and how.
• When you take about the GRBAS scale, maybe it would be good to say what that those letters stands for. And maybe say what factors on the scale would be associated with laryngitis.
