Dingo
editHello, I have reverted your edits to Dingo. When the proposed law is legislated next year, that will be the time to include it in the article. What we have currently is a journalist's media report that somebody intends on doing something in the future. Until then, the article is correct as it stands. Regards, William Harris (talk) 10:52, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. Thanks for explanation.MinasOstiris (talk) 10:53, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- My apologies, but with a multiple edit Rollback revert there is no edit summary, so whenever I use it I always leave a message in the editor's Talk page to explain.
- It is important to keep in mind that dingoes are considered "unprotected" native fauna under the Western Australian Wildlife Conservation Act, which means that they are unprotected in National Parks in WA (this allows the government the option of culling them in National Parks if it thinks that needs to be done). We also have to keep in mind that the forecast legislation will probably only apply to the grazing lands (cattle and sheep) areas of WA and not the entire state, and the Act may even contain a map for the areas in which it applies. It will relate to "wild dogs", and in the "Definitions" section of the Act it most likely will define the term wild dogs as "dingo and dingo hybrids", as do some other Aussie jurisdictions. Thanks for your interest in dingo; let us see what the WA Parliament actually passes (as opposed to some sensational journalism). Regards, William Harris (talk) 05:18, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- I see. Thanks a lot for detailed information. A complexed matter but interesting to read.MinasOstiris (talk) 09:49, 29 November 2021 (UTC)
- It is up to us as Wikipedia editors to check the facts and ensure that (a) what we are writing is factually accurate and (b) that our edits are in context with the rest of the article. (I have had my share of reverts to my edits until I got those two points right many years ago.....) Happy editing! William Harris (talk) 07:10, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
- Totally agreed. It's ok that my edits were reverted in this case, all thanks to your detailed reply.MinasOstiris (talk) 10:33, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
