Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Wikipedia's policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow the use of more than one account or IP address by one person. Hello, Minerva TYLee. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
- instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. JimRenge (talk) 21:13, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
Hi, I just want to let you know that I appreciate your efforts to translate the Lotus Sutra. Following the arguments presented in the LS this will bring you great religious merits: (...) "such a young man or young lady of good family must be held to be adorned with the apparel of the Tathâgata. He carries the Tathâgata on his shoulder, Bhaishagyarâga, who after having copied this Dharmaparyâya and made a volume of it, carries it on his shoulder." Kern, ch 10
Nevertheless, wikipedia is an encyclopedia which follows a neutral point of view policy (WP:NPOV) and does not allow the promotion of any religion, idea, company, organization or product (books included). (WP:NOT) More specifically , per WP:USERGENERATED editors are not allowed to cite or quote ([1])self-published books such as [[Minerva Lee] (tr.) (2015). The Lotus Sutra and Its Opening and Closing Sutras. Singapore: Createspace Independent Pub. ISBN 978-1500930806]. Our job as editors is generally limited to summarizing what reliable, secondary sources state about the topic (WP:VERIFY, WP:RS). Articles should be based upon secondary scholarly sources. Primary sources, like sutras, may only be used with great caution, if (!) they are used together with secondary sources which critically analyze them.
Please reflect on your motivation. Wikipedia is definitely not the right place to promote your book, the WP:TRUTH, or your faith. If you are here to help building an encyclopedia you are welcome! Best regards JimRenge (talk) 18:45, 25 February 2016 (UTC)
